Okay guys and gals! I'll be road running tomorrow and returning sometime on Sunday. Expect to run I95 south to Baltimore, Md. Then 695 west around Baltimore to 70 West, to PA Turnpike, and then west on TP to New Stanton. From there 70 west into Central Ohio to mile post 100, and south on Ohio 37 to Lancaster. The reverse coming back. Hope this won't become a weekly adventure as a family emergency is cause for this unexpected trip. If I need to road run every weekend or so, the miles are really gonna pile up on the MM.

Watch the Buckeye bears on SR70....they're sneaky, relentless, and viscous. Borrow a CB if you can. Rt 37 is a fun run though, and the staties rarely patrol the backwoods. Drive safe......wax the nose REAL good, it's bug wake up season around here.

Cruz....CB's already in the car. Just never put it in the sig. Yep! I know about the SP's in Ohio. When my grandfather was alive, he rode with the local auxiliary unit almost every night. I was born and raised in Lancaster, but other than visiting family, never went back after retireing from the service. Other than family, I never left anything I wanted to go back to. My favorite girl ran off and married another while I was overseas. Broke my heart!

There are several truck stops on the way that have CB shops that do mods. $60 will get you 40watts if you are utilizing a uniden or similar. Linears are awesome too. One gets more respect when you can pound 'em from 20 miles out. Big car, big radio.....I love my P.A. as well. It's also handy to let the wife know when I am home, as the over-power bleeds over the tv....and the phone...and the.....

oh hell, I think the FCC is bangin' at the door :P

The Wilson 1000 (trunk mount application) antennae is the best choice for high power applications, and you can unscrew it and cap it when not in use. The Uniden '66 series radios mount nicely against the passenger side of the center console, and I have mounted an external speaker in the roof console for easy listening while the stereo is on.

Cb's a good idea up north also. Can hear the truckers yap about hot lookin' babes and which lane/car to look at. Also get interesting comments about MM. I didn't perma-mount antenna though, ran it through baby seat clip in reae. Glued cloth to bottom of magnetic base also, saw what it did to the wife's car when left unprotected

Back at home safe and sound. Took care of the emergency for now. At least there won't be anymore road running for the for seeable future. The MM averaged 21.4 over the entire trip, running 70-75 on cruise control with occassional spurts to 85. Got busted three times with laser, but they didn't stop me. Must have been that big, black, MM! Anyway, am looking into a laser difusser from K40 today. The V1 was good, but by the time it shouted laser, it's really to late. It amazes me how fast some people will attempt to move over when they see this big black car in the rearview mirror.

As for the CB, I have a Cobra unit, but really can't find a place to mount it, so I have a hand held unit, with the power supply mounted under the dash next to the accellerator. I'm using a Midland glass mount antenna, as the K40 magnetic mount I used to use left a scratch when removing it the last time I used it. Bought a small speaker to use as the hand held speaker really sucks. Routed the speaker wire under the dash, up the piller on the drivers side, across the overhead to the overhead console, and then used velcro to mount the speaker above my right side.

Cruz, thanks, but not really interested in boosting the power, just listen for smokey reports and a few conversations when prompted. Got quite a few comments and conversations on the road about the MM though.

Later.........
