It's a commonly asked question, many threads about it, search around a bit and you'll see that many folks are scared of them and many others swear by them. I have about 50k on mine and about 2-1/2 years. No problems.

The thing to keep in mind about mods that reduce, or, unload parasitic drag on the engine, show their best results on a N/A engine. The electric water pump, underdrive pulleys, even the smaller, lighter torque converter help the engine spin up faster, and get you into your ideal powerband sooner. They are very effective here, however, once you add power by means of supercharging, turbocharging, or, NOS, the gains slip away.
If you have a supercharger in place, and add an electric water pump, I wouldn't expect you to see any power gains at all. The presence of forced induction will absorb any dynamics the pump brings to the table, therefore, my advice is that if a power adder of any sort is in your future at all, save your money for that. If you know for sure it's not in your plans, investigate all the N/A mods for benefits, and liabilities. You can build very impressive power with the right mods on a N/A Marauder, guys like Barry (Cruztaker) have won my respect with remarkable performance.
I have limited experience with electric water pumps. Team Ford installed this option along with a electronic monitor last spring. I have had no problems, but I plan on purchasing an extra unit for insurance. Nothing like overheating a aluminum engine.

I put mine in the Marauder with 7003 miles on it, install date 8-21-04. I now have 17,500 miles approx and no problems or noise. I for one like it.
