Ok guys,
On my driver side window on the lower left hand corner I have a white
sticker that says carmax. The people whom I purchased my Marauder
from. I've tried to remove this item but it is layed right on top of the
factory inside tint. And it dosen't want to budge. I thought about heating
it up with a blow dryer but I'm afraid I might loosen the tint at the same
time. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I'm really getting tired of
advertising for carmax. Thanks in advance. Jimmy G.

I was not aware we had a factory tint film. I believe the tint from the factory is layered in between the glass.

I've tried to remove this item but it is layed right on top of the factory inside tint. And it dosen't want to budge. Factory tint is in the glass, not on the back of the glass. Haven't had any problems using a single-edge blade to scrape off stickers. Aftermarket tint is another story.

You are correct.

The OEM tinted glass is IN the glass. Use a razor blade to remove the sticker, and some isopropanol to remove any adhesive.

I highly suspect you have aftermarket FILM tint on your windows.
A hair dryer, NOT A HEAT GUN, used carefully to warm the area, should allow you to carefully lift a corner of the sticker. You may find that it will come off while pulling and warming at the same time. Slowly....carefully....

Window film, cures with heat...obviously the hot sun beats on it day, everyday, for years, all to to achieve ungoddly temperatures, and it hasn't fallen off yet.:P

I would be more concerned working on it cold. Cold and plastic/mettalic film results in tearing and cracking.

Guess what I also bought mine from carmax. Car had tint from original owner(s). The inspecton sticker will leave residue when removed. I found this out when I removed that and the carmax trunk decal. Whats your location?

Use a razor blade to remove the sticker, and some isopropanol to remove any adhesive. If isopropyl alcohol leaves a gummy mess, as it sometimes does, then try Goo-Gone...nice orange scent and works great on most sticky stuff.

After removing the sticker, use DENATURED ALCOHOL (availabale from a paint store) on a terry cloth rag.

Denat is stronger than isopropanol. Alcohol goes ON THE CLOTH and the pile from the rag gathers the goo. Turn the rag often or you will wipe the goo back ON!

Note: This works on pine sap and bugs and does not harm paint (but DOES remove wax). DO NOT apply alcohol directly to the surface. It is VERY thin and will run places you don't want it.

I have been using denat for as long as I can remember. Works well and is safe.

Will it mess with the aftermarket tint?
