I was wondering what, if any mods, excluding forced induction and NOS, could possibly put me in the 12's? I dont want a new engine. I am pretty sure I can get into the low 13's with my Kooks install and a TC, but what would put me a good second lower? Please list any ideas and price ranges.

292 RWHP is damn good, I wish I could get into the 13s that easy...

Mid 13's is about it N/A. Low 13's possibly with slicks. Maybe 4.56's could help get you there?

I'd also say an intake air chiller and a super-duper race gas tune. If you find a chiller that works, let me know because I need one of those too.

I was thinking of getting new heads, maybe boring the motor a bit, that kind of stuff. Ill probably just supercharge it, but thinking of a N/A car doing 12's sounded interesting. The other tune on my chip is a 100 octane fuel tune that Scott Beer gave to me.

New heads won't help much, the MM has really good heads from the factory. Big bore or stroker or big bore stroker might put you there, along with the FR500 cam kit. You're looking at $10k or more.
Being a member of the 13 second club and rated 3rd fast N/A Marauder on Dragtimes.com and the M.M. net. I think what Barry has done will not be out done for sometime. You need to put yourself and your car on a diet. Next year I will be adding wider rims and drag radials, and investigating FAST electronics. I need to reduce my times by 7 tenths of second to be in the high 12’s. I personally don’t think it’s possible without major motor modification.

hmmmmm...thats alot of $$$ Like I said, I was just exploring different routes. Probably going to do a forced induction. If I was going to put 10k into an engine, Id rather get a cammer engine.

Race weight is our(your) biggest problem now.
Being we have what is basicly a 4 door Mach 1 we need to get the about 4460lbs we have down to the 3600-3800 lb range.(BTW 4460 is what my Marauder is at with me in it.)
Or find another 100 hp to the wheels.
On a 12sec. car -100lbs is good for .1 secounds in the 1.4mile give or take.
I dont know where you could pull out 600lbs.
The front seats are around 60lbs ea install a single race seat and you could net a 100lb loss.
Toss the rear seat for about 50 (I guess).
Then start ripping out the carpet and pads for about 25.
Don't forget the spare and jack for 65.
Whats next? Climate system? 100?
All the airbag stuff? another 30?
Front inner bumper, then replaced with a light weight support 75 net?
Change the Stock wheels for lite track stuff and you could drop 100lbs of nasty unsprunge weight for 2-3 tenths by itself. Unsprunge pays about 4 to 1.
So thats about 500lbs and something that is now nearly a track only Marauder, but it can be done.
Do you want to drive it though?

Maybe so, but when you get classified for racing, nitrous is considered a power adder just like a blower or turbo.

Get TMAC to push you from behind. that might even get you into the low 12's !

Nice toon Dude!! Are you going to tune again after the Kooks install? Let me know, maybe we can go together.
After the TC and and headers it's going to cost you $$$ to get to 12's.
But, I am getting some smaller diameter NITTO's for the track on some lighter wheels and you could try those, they might give you around a 4:56 ratio.

I agree with everyone elses thought about the big cash layout to get into 12's.
I would pull the engine and bore it and stroke it. Then pack some forged dome pistons to try to get 13:1 compression. With that you are limited to super high octane fuel, but it can remain a daily driver. Probably have to get higher vol. fuel injectors too.
Team that up with 4.56:1 gears, slicks and try to cut some front end weight while transferring as much as you can to the back (battery in trunk...) and you might get pretty close.
Running a 12 second lead sled on the street and track is tough, and can get pretty expensive fuel wise, tire wise and ticket wise.
We all have our hobbies though....

Like I said, Im just going to go supercharged. The sound of a N/A 12 second car intrigued me, but I dont have THAT kind of $$$. Thanx for your input guys.
