Has anyone tried converting their "fogs" to these? Just curious.

I ran the "Super White" SilverStars for almost 100 hours and both went out on the same day!!!:mad2: Called Sylvania and they said 50-100 hours is all you can expect since they run so hot??
Back to the "Yellow" OEM's since I run mine all the time and the OEM's will last thousands of hours??:bows:
Haven't considered your option but would be interested depending on the price as the OEM's really are dull looking!!:argue:

I had Cats 4100(hot white brighter than acura TL) in my 6 till I started stripping it in prep for sale. I miss those things soo much to the point I could drive right now with or without headlights and not know it! The fogs would be my idea cause i'm not shure how it would look in the headlights. I had to cut and so other things for them to work on my 6 anyone do it yet?

Thats where I got the kit for my Marauder headlights, but I do not think
they sell the kit for our foglights... Does anyone know what size/type our
fogs are? I know our headlights are 9007, but I have no clue what type
of foglight we have.

H1...hence the title of this post. :D
H1s are popular in European cars for the high beams and American cars for the fog/driving lights. My sis-in-law has H1s high beams in here VW.
www.ultrabrightlights.com has the H1s....right on their homepage. :D I might look into them. Were you pleased with the kit itself?

LOL please excuse me, I am part of an oragainzation for morons, local
6 and 7/8 (3 stooges reference :D ) I have been know to ask stupid
questions. Anyway, I wish they had our lights with a high beam option
but we have the 9007s, so we lose our HB option with the HIDs.
I have had the 8000k HIDs since last May, with no problems.
Once the Winter comes to an end I think Im gonna
order a kit for the fogs. Thanks for the clearing that up for me.

Speaking for my freind, He's very happy with them, Its all plug and play. Your Stock headlight connecter plugs into a ballast box which plugs into the Bulb. The hardest part of the install is the mounting of the ballast boxes.
Your Factory harness is protected by the factory relays and fuses so nothing will be harmed from the install and HID's run cooler then Halogen bulbs so you wont melt the Headlamps.
I would have done the install sooner but rear tires are my #1 priority at the moment

Don't go past 8k or oven 6K cause you loose the human visable light and start driving around with black lights for headlights.

Got about 14 months out of mine, they went out a couple days apart last week. They are on most of the time. Great for driving in snow!

I agree....they say the best clor temperature is 5300k because it is closest to sunlight.
I just ordered an H1 6000k kit. Once I install, I'll post pix and report on it. :)

Great, my only concern was that the bulbs for the HIDs are very long and I
can remember they seemed to hardly fit in the headlight housing. I know
there is not alot of room in the fog light lense for a long bulb. Did you
get the kit from ultrabrightlights.com ?

I removed the light baffle so there should be plenty of room in the fog light housing. I did this about a year ago and it projects more light onto the road even with stock bulbs.
I ordered mine from www.xenonpros.com off of ebay. It is the same McColluch kit that www.ultrabrightlights.com offers but $30 cheaper and free shipping. :D

I already get all kinds of people flashing me when I have the fog lamps on. It there any kind of adjustment on the fog lamps? I haven't messed with it yet but one of these days, i will crawl under there and give a gander.

When I did the fog light mod, I had to remove the housing. To remove, you have to unscrew the adjustment screw used for aiming. It is a brass colored long screw. Your fog lights might be aimed high pointing at other drivers.
When I install my HIDs, I'm going to aim them straighter. Right now, They are aimed a bit down so they light only project in the front of the car and not too far out.

OK....I received the H1 HID kit. It might involve more work than I thought. Even though we have a standard H1 bulb, it fits into an adapter/mounting thingy before the connector plugs in.
The H1 HID capsule is the same as the H1 bulb itself but MAY not be 100% plug-n-play.
I'm gonna get it to work but it will take a small amount of extra work.

When I did my headlights, I had to cut the factory harness from the
headlight assembly and butt-connect the new power pack in for
the HIDs. Is this what you mean?

That too... It is supposed to by plug-n-play but it came with bare wires so i'll have to splice those it.
The bulb part would be plug-n-play but I'll blame Mercury for that one. :D
But I'm talking about how the bulb mounts into the assembly. The bulb fits in the slot perfectly but there's no way to hold it there. The stock H1 is held in with a plastic connector/adapter. Since the HID capsule has the 2 wires coming off it, I needed to chop up the mounting connector just so it could hold the bulb in place.
I'm going to take pictures by this coming weekend of what I'm talking about.

Rider90, I got the them the same place "Marauder" got his, at
www.ultrabrightlights.com Great people to deal with, but the 9007 kit
in out cars is not all plug and play. I had to butt-connect the low beam
wires from our headlight harness (off the healights assembly) to the HID
power pack. But all in all it was easy.

Sorry no pictures, I got the 8000K (blue) They put the stock lights to
shame. Id post pics, but no digi. camera, they have pics on the website
of other cars with the 8000K. They do not make the high-beam HIDs for
our cars, or any car with duel-filliment bulbs (that have high-beam and
low-beam in one bulb/9007/9004/Etc.)

I saw one place that has a dual 9007 HID capsule but it looked funny and was too expensive. It wasn't even a dual bulb...it was a solenoid that moved the capsule to mimic a high beam.

Thats the place from the pix above for the dual beam kit. They are somewhere in Europe and the price is 650 Euros...which is like $860...not including overseas shipping. They say the kit is 4200k...that's not too far off in color temperature from Sylvania Silver Stars or the PIAA Xtreme Whites I have.
The place that had the dual capsules I can't seem to find now.
