Confucius says:
Passing a right turning car, by moving into the left center lane (with residual sand from snowplows) to go around + MM with WOT = ONE HAIRY RIDE
Enough said

A couple of winters ago I was driving out to Denver and an older gentleman in a Grand Marquis was passing on the left and hit a patch of black ice. The GM did a slow motion wide 90 degree right turn directly in front of me at 55 mph into the fresh powder.
I applied sight pressure to my brakes to keep from smacking into him and as his GM skated in front of me sideways. His wife was screaming so frightenedly her dentures flew out of her mouth. He wound up about 100 feet into the corn field. It was surreal.
Thanks for the flashback Jay.

Black Ice...Yep, brings back a memory of my first winter with a Marauder.
Until then, I believed I could keep the car out as long as it didn't snow, and it was now mid October and getting ready to do just that. I leave for work at zero-dark-thirty, and the drive is rather lonely. One section of road takes a slight rise, then dips, a natural ridge. I was doing 30 MPH with a steady throttle, I had the green coming up. Passing over the ridge, the car lifted as it normally does, but this takes half the weight off the tires, and I just started spinning nose to tail. The car stayed in the center of the road, but spun, and spun, and spun in a circle for almost a full city block, feeling like it was gaining speed, not slowing down, like the centrifical force of a Tilt-A-Whirl!
Once I stopped, I got out and checked for damage, and this side of the ridge, was a sheet of ice. It had been raining earlier, and wind blowing against the ridge froze the rain in place. I carefully drove home, and put the Marauder away until St. Patrick's Day. I renewed my respect for a 4400 pound automobile, controlling it and stopping it, is as tough a job as getting it down the 1320.

I have considered Aloha land in the past, but with their crazy gun laws out there I would have to leave a number of my adult toys in the safe back on the mainland with some friends. Also, I would need a Band 5 for a lateral. Say hi to your new boss (Al P.) for me, as I have worked with him alot over the years.
