Pardon my impudence as the FNG, but all this discussion about the tire issue has me concerned. Not only the wear but the easy punctures as well. Any chance to get everyone to mass e-mail a different manufacturer and at least let them know the concerns about the BFG. KUMHO would be a good choice. I've had them on several vehicles-excellent tire. They are a leader in hi-perf tires and are noted for long wear and traction. They already have the fronts. There needs to be more than one choice.
Well constructed and informative site---Ill be back

I suggest driving over to the president of BFG's house, then letting the air out of his tires :D

that's not what I meant. Forget BFG, nothing's happening there, they have the monopoly. I mean e-mail another manufacturer to make the size we need. My suggestion would be KUMHO tire. I really don't know how a large corp. would respond to this, even if it is cost prohibitive, afterall it is a limited market. Maybe the site administrator has some ideas or connections on how to contact a manufacturer.

With only 2 posts here, you haven't been formally introduced to my sense of humour.
You email KUMHO, but I'd still like to let the air out of the tires of BFG's president. :D
Who knows about KUMHO, though? We are a small market, but we do burn a lot of rubber. I suggest sending them BillyG's video, tell KUMHO that we all drive like that, and you'll probably have them drooling to make Marauder tires!

Well, something else to consider is the 300C crowd. Some there have gone from the stock Continentals on their cars to the 245/55-18 BFG tire as a replacement - and they put them on all 4 corners. I have said it before and will say again, if more manufacturers would give the option, I bet you could get them on board, too. Then again, how many of them keep their stock wheels? Many of them want the "bling" instead.
But there is another source of consumption for our rear tire size. I would recommend finding a manufacturer that already makes our stock front tire size and approach them with the option of coming up with a matching rear. They may not sell a whole lot of just the rear size, but the sales of matching sets is still money in the bank for them.

That's my point, KUMHO does make the front, in two models
background--sold an 03 CV Sport(marauder lite) this spring that I modded out a bit, headers, fipk for a good buck. Found an 04 MM with 8k last month in the color I wanted w/h-seats. I might have overpaid a bit tho at 24k. Searches on autotrader and cars.com show prices holding or going up a little as news that these are very limited is spreading.
Where can I find the badgeless grill???
