Wes, You are just driving the wheels off that Marauder. :bows: Awesome. You are getting way more out of your investment than I am at this point. Got to get it together and do some driving! WTG, man. Keep posting these great videos for us, please. Dennis:D

AWESOME VIDEO! 4500 LB Four Door and you are passing Porches!

LOVE the audio of the DOHC V8-downshift ROAR...:bows:

Now I've got the bug....I'm going to have to visit Summit Point in W.VA. next summer and 'test the road racing waters'!
(although those brake pads in the video might make me reconsider...)

The spicy is more fun cause its light and nimble, but its nice to play with rear drive at the track.

Joe that Porsche had Hoosiers too. Summit Point looks fun, I may hit it one day. Brake pads are consumables like gas :P
Wes.

Wes, it certainly looks like you get the most out of your car

Why do you have the stickers covering your headlights? Is it because of the DRL's?

I'm going to guess it's to prevent chips and/or cracks from stuff kicked up by cars up front. I've seen one other guy do it while I was photographing a lapping school/event, but then again the guy's a dork so I didn't know whether to believe the validity of such a thing, so seeing a 'legit' guy doing it as well makes me think it actually is worth doing.

The heat from the headlamps did a number on his tape job, though... did you have that same problem, Wes?

Anyway, I had a good time shooting this particular event, and took advantage of some of my really long lenses to be able to catch angles like these:

What kind of exhaust are you running, Wes?

You gotta tell me beforehand next time you'll be at Mont Tremblant, I'd love to take some photos of the pack in action.

Yeah I'd tape the bottom of the bumper behind the wheels as well ;)

Shakes_26 I bought the mounts from here:
http://store.yahoo.com/cinemasupplies/carmounts.html I have the gripper 3028 and the gripper tie down kit & just a regular Sony Mini DV cam.

QWK SVT the tape is technically for the cleanup crew, in case of an accident where you break the headlights glass doesn't shatter all over the track. But many people use it for the stone chips. Sometimes I do it, sometimes not. I have been to trackdays where vette guys have the whole front end taped or wrapped in plastic, looks like a condom. They get smirked at in the pits, especially if they can't drive. :o

TripleTransAm its the Kooks system with magnaflows and stock tips. It makes friends every track I go to. Not too loud, definately not quiet :)

All in all a trackday is about enjoying your cars, the little rivarlies that happen are a distant second to the fun & camaraderie.

Hmm, "not too loud, definitely not quiet"... sounds like my ex-girlfriend. And her family definitely qualified as "kooks", so the similarities are astonishing.

Thanks for the info.

I did the 'wrapping the front end in Saran Wrap' thing on my GTA during a quick drive to Toronto. I think this was in the midst of my 'car show' phase, and the thought of stone chips on the 401 had me trembling like a little girl. Got a lot of stares.

How did you get the pan effect in the turns? Was it jsut the way you had the camera mounted making it seem as if it panned into the turn to see 'through' it?

thanks, enquiring minds want to know!

I'm thinking it was a visual effect from the reflections on the roof.

Shakes its the reflection of the roof that creates the pan effect. It really helps seem like I'm turning a corner when the tree tops start moving.
