Well, I had an idea for a January meet, or if not a meet due to possible logistical difficulties, atleast a plan for a few of us to go as a group.

How about the Washington Auto Show? http://www.washingtonautoshow.com/

Show is running late this year, usually it's just after the holidays, this year it's from January 24-29th. Easiest way in is to Metro to Mt Vernon Sqaure. It's held at the Washington Convention Center.

Parking would be an issue, so it'd be hard to be a real Marauder meet - would probably be meeting in person or a meeting at a Metro stop to ride in.

Anyway, if not a good idea for a meet, maybe atleast a group thing.

I may go twice - once on the weekend and maybe if time permits taking part of the day off. I enjoy trying to sit in as many cars as possible. I check out just about everything there to get an idea of what each manufacturer has to offer.

So anyway, let me know if anyone is interested in this as CAM January!

The S.O.B. and I have been going to the Washington Auto Show for the past 8 years or so. :D Good thing you brought this up 'cause we normally head up there over the holidays. I wonder why they pushed it out almost 3-4 weeks???

The CAM group tried this last year (on 1 January) with minimal success. Attendees included Haggis, Ladyhawke, Bluerauder and MyTMerc. Although we rallied for an initial get-together at the Ford GT display, the size of the show and varying interests had us separated in short order. Some of us met up prior to departure and wandered over to the "Capitol Brewery" for food and beverages. Parking and travel on Metro is not conducive to a typical Marauder Show-and-Tell session. :(

That said, the weekend of the 28-29 January would be best. I am in if there is enough interest. :D

This doesn't sound like a bad idea.

This and the Baltimore show have been on our list for the last two years for CAM Meets. The turn out is usually not the greatest due to the weather, but Chris and I will be there.

I enjoyed the show last year and plan on going again this year. The weekend's my only option. Saturday seems best before things start breaking down on Sunday. I plan on getting there when it opens at 10am "ish" - so I can get to see some of the more popular cars before the crowds get big.
