Went to run a short errand today and discovered my right rear tire was nearly flat. Fearing the worst, I found a Discount Tire Co. store nearby and handed them the keys while keeping my fingers crossed that I wouldn't have to lay out for a new tire. As I'm sitting and thumbing through a Road & Track, the kid who brought the car around to the shop comes up to me all excited and asks, "What have you got in that Marauder, is it supercharged or something?"
I shake my head and say, "No, it's just the stock Marauder engine".
The kid says, "Man, that's a powerful engine, the throttle is really touchy!"
I said, "It takes a little getting used to."
The kid then walks away, still talking to the other young guys in the store, saying, "Man, you should see the inside of this car, it's beautiful! Never thought I'd say that about a Mercury!"
I guess they all liked it, they didn't even charge me for fixing the flat!

I had a guy at my local Shell station stop and back up to ask about the car.....He wanted to know if it was a new 2006 and what it was??

I proudly explained it to him and he couldn't believe he had missed these cars back in 2002, 2003 and 2004???

All I could say was that he wasn't alone and that Ford's marketing plan is pretty poor!!:argue:

The Marauder may return but who knows when....For now I have one and am VERY PLEASED with it!! :bows:

Yes, they will make a repair free of charge, but be careful. The one I went to did the same thing, but the next day when I was washing my car and detailing the tires, I read "Mount This Side In" as I was wiping across the tire. I took it back, had them remount it, and then noticed later that I had some pretty severe scratches on that wheel.

It was free, but I would much rather have paid for the service. Now, it's their word against mine, and no money was exchanged, so it's my loss. IF I ever go back there, I will watch every move they make. I don't like to say "never", but I doubt that they will see my car again.

I would be wondering if they took your car for the 100mph test drive by the way that kid was asking if it was supercharged!

It would have taken him longer to just get out of the driveway than it took to fix the tire, what with all the traffic at that time of day. No, he was just an impressionable youth.
