Jerry, Any news on California CARB Certification?
I am one of several CA Marauder owners who want your kit, but are waiting on the CARB certification.
Please tell us that the CARB certification thing is not DOA.
Any news on this?
Thanks and Best Regards,
David

I am not Jerry, nor do I represent Trilogy Motorsports. But I may be able to answer this.
This thread (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15216&highlight=trilogy+carb) has your answer. I know the reply is a year old, but I do not believe Trilogy has any plans to get the carb cert for thier S/C kit.
There is not enough demand out of CA to justify the cost.
How many member in CA want the kit? I bet if enough members want the kit, it may happen.

I and at least two others in CA await the CARB certification.
I hope they get on this next year. I want the Trilogy S/C kit as soon as the CARB cert. is done. Perhaps others in CA should PM Jerry like I did so that he knows how many of us there are.

WOW...
California does a Smog inspection every 6 years ???
New York does it every 2 years.
I remember reading that the Trilogy kit will not keep you from passing
your smog inspection as long as your engine is healthy.
It's also a good thing to know your State Safety/Emissions inspector,
so that they can give the correct interpretation of your setup.

Won't fail the OBD II or sniffer tests but it'll fail the visual inspection.

ProChargers have CARB certification for Mustangs. It is non-transferrable and the enforcers know it.

Jerry,
Have any other California MM'ers contacted you about wanting Trilogy kits?

Guys,
The volumes for California are very low and the cost for doing the test is $30,000. And if you fail the test you have to pay for the test all over again. My best suggestion is to speak to Tom Leonard at Hansel Ford/Lincoln/Mercury. He is the Service Manager and knows how to address installing a Trilogy kit in California. We have about 6 customers in California and they are doing very well with there cars. We have to tune the kit for lower octane gas(91) and everything else works fine. Unless their are a large number of requests for Marauder kits in California, it will be a while. I wish I had a better answer, but this is the best I can offer at this time.
Sincerely,
Jerry

Hitchhiker,
Even if there were 40, it would not cover the cost of the testing, having a virgin car to S/C, transporting the crew to CA. etc. etc. etc. The best I can offer for the Marauder is Tom Leonard.

Jerry

Another governmental gouging....
If the car meets the ODB II and Sniffer...
Ah don't get me started... governments suck..

I don't understand. If California is just going to fall into the ocean anyhow, why are they so worried about the air?
Jerry,
With the MM the writing is on the wall. The TSC is not going to be a money maker after a few years. This is something that we have both discussed and I am glad that you reached your break even number in sales for the current kit to be profitable.
I guess I am wondering if you have any plans to do any mods to your kit to make it available for the other Panther platform cars. It seems to me that this would significantly open up your market, both in CA as well as across the US. It might also place your company in the position of being "THE Lead Sled S/C Company."
Anyway, with a multi Panther kit it is possible that CARB would be more realistic, would it not?
Best,
Dan
