I was hard wiring a radar detector today and when I started up the car I realized the controls arent working.

I dont know if they stopped with this install or before as I havent really used them in a while.

I looked in the manual and there didnt appear to be a fuse specifically for them. And every thing else seems to work fine.

I may have pulled apart a connection while I was under there routing wires. I am a big guy and it is really tough to get under there so sometimes I am like a bull in a china shop..

Anyone have any suggestions? It is still under warranty so worst case I will bring it in. But I would rather try to take care of it myself.

Bring it back, you might get a brand new, fresh leather steering wheel :)

Anybody.....??

I will take to dealer at the first of the year but I would rather try to determine the problem on my own... Especially if I just accidently unplugged something.

do they at least light up at night? is it radio, ac, or cruise control, or everything??

No lights at night. I just walked out to the garage and turned the lights on. No back lighting.

Everything else seems to work. By that I mean the radio lights up and turns on, the dash lights light up, etc... It is not like there is something else that doesnt work that would point to a blown fuse or something.

Unless it is something that isnt obvious.

If it's just the controls on the steering wheel. You might want to check out the "clock spring". We found out that that was what was wrong with ours so many years ago. But generally those are broken because someone spun the wheel while the wheel is disconnected from the transmission.

Just an idea.
