I'm sort of new to the board but I've been around here reading and watching for about half of a year.So today I went to Pensacola,FL with my parents to check on some Marauders(they promised me one for a full scholarship).I found 3 '03 black ones.We got the one with 26 thousand miles for 19,000 even which is pretty good to me.I instantly fell in love with the car and on the way home trouble starts. As I'm coming around a curve following my mom, this car headed our direction is passing a truck connected with a trailer coming up the hill and around the curve. So she's in my lane but she nips the trailer and slides around to face horizontal in my lane.So I obviously have nothing to do so on impulse I hit the brakes and try to dodge her by going off road.NO GO though i hit the back side of her bumper with the driver's side fender in my efforts to dodge her.It seriously bends the fender and the light is broken out and the broken fender starts cutting the tire as I continue to roll to get off road. It's not super bad but I didn't have the car for more than 30 minutes no more than 15 miles. It made me cry.Hopefully I'll have it back by new year I already miss my baby.It was 2 good to be true. The images of that car in the middle of the road torments my mind.Anybody think it could of damage any of the engine/transmission?Also can someone explain the difference in the VIN MEHM or MHHM(?)Also will someone school me on some of the things I can get to accessorize my marauder such as door sills and emblems and SS inserts(AIM:EvrlstngAssa)?Plea se say a prayer for me.I don't know if the guy at fault even had insurance but will my insurance cover such a newly bought car?
*Edit here's the picture it wasn't so bad when I checked it out in the daytime,it just seemed bad at night and since I didn't have the MM for very long made it seem even worse*

and now the damaged part

I'm glad I tried to dodge her and got the fender mostly instead of head-on collision

Bad news indeed. At least you and your family are OK. I hope for your MM to receive a speedy recovery.
By the way, which school did you receive a full ride to?
That is truly a shame. Your insurance should cover anything you're driving regardless of fault. On a brighter note, it could always be much worse and no one was injured. That is a blessing! Best of luck with your new ride - enjoy!

Even though your MM got damaged, it is fixable. It is also good to know that you are ok from this. It will take some time to get this corrected but it will pay off in the end.
BTW, Welcome aboard. Enjoy the site and your new ride when you get it back.

Dayum ... 30 minutes and 15 miles has gotta be a record. :( Glad that you are OK ... sounds like it could have been much, much worse. Don't worry, she'll be good as new when you get her back. You didnt have the MM long enough to develop a full grin :D so your separation anxiety should be minimized. Enjoy the holidays ... :xtree: knowing that you have a really nice gift coming.
BTW ... Welcome to the MM.Net :welcome1:

After seeing any sort of crash happen, my dad always said "That's how fast it happens."
Sorry you had to experience that first hand, so soon into Marauderhood!
Bright side... you've got a great car, and if you swung a scholarship, a great future with many more great cars ahead of you.
My mechanic told me the "MEHM" was short for mayhem!
I doubt you could have driven the car away from the dealership without coverage, and I'd think if you had Liability your Collision would be in effect too.
Motor gently, stuff happens fast... even when you're in the right!

:alone: Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but at least no serious injuries. The smile will return once you have your "baby" back in your hands. If you use the "search" tab there are many threads about accessories for you to see.

Glad all involved are ok. The car will be ok, well more than ok as all Marauders are already a step up on everything else.
As I recall the MHHM designates a Marauder with a factory moonroof. SS inserts are terrific and look great.
Enjoy the ride when it gets back and welcome to MM.net.

Sorry for your "experience". It sounds like there was the potential for a fatality or two. Count your blessings. Get it fixed, then get it supercharged so you can blast away from any danger the next time. Good luck...:D

I guess now there might be a choice between having a front plate bracket or not.

more bad news it's been about 2 weeks now and with all the insurance bizness and stuff out of the way.The body and paint shop is ready to start work on it to restore my MM back to its fully beauty condition.Only 1 problem:IT WON"T CRANK!!!Can anyone give me any suggestions or reasons why it won't crank from looking at the pictures.Under the hood nothing is really damaged or bent except for the washer fluid.I thought it was the fuel pump shutoff switch but the shop says that's not it.It wouldn't even crank after the wreck. It would only come on as in lights, radio,ac, and other stuff but said nothing when I tried to crank. He said he will take it to a Mercury Lincoln dealership Monday.Any thoughts or suggestions to help me out?

I assume you've checked the battery is charged, and cleaned the terminals . . .
My Crown Vic does this sometimes too, it's the cheap terminal fitting on the starter - red wire - that sometimes pops off when I hit a major pothole.
No cranking whatsoever? Did anyone try to start the car, other than with a regular, PATS enabled key? If the bodyshop copied your key, and tried to start the car with a copy that wasn't known to the PATS computer, that car will not start. Ever. Not without a trip to a dealership to unlock the computer.

DCW, start a thread of your own introducing yourself, if you like.
As far as the 300A and B stuff, do a search here (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/search.php). Most questions you can ask have probably been addressed. Don't be afraid to start a thread to ask questions you are not sure about.

good news the problems were solved today and he should be through around friday. He said the cranking problem was because a wire was cut.My question is could this cause more problems down the road and should I have a L-M dealership check it out to make sure things everythings OK?Thanks for all the condolences in my time of sorrow.I will post pics of it when I get it back.I'm so happy :D
