:help: Ok I plan on ordering Bob white's decals and inserts, but I'm torn between the different reds. Can anyone give me a better description of each red reflective and nonreflective?or show me a picture of your red inserts and decals or a picture of what each red most closely resembles? Also which shade of reflective red corresponds to or looks similar to which nonreflective red? Thanks any help would be appreciated.

I dont care for the red inserts personally. TorinoDan's set of black reflective inserts are awesome. You have to look at them in the daylight to see them, they really match the paint well on a black marauder. At night...FORGET about it...too much for words. Comes out almost as a gold reflection.
TorinoDan's inserts are a home-made version that while I did pay him for them, he doesnt market them. (I think you would have to approach him about it) I will say that I paid him more than a set of those ruby red inserts goes for.

I caught the sun on the car at the right angle. You can see the black BW's reflecting.

Levi - Welcome to the MM site.:D :welcome:
Many members of this board have the inserts. I would suggest going to a meet to see them for yourself.

I saw Defyants Inserts and his car, Both are Awesome!
The Black inserts on a Silver MM really stand out nicely. I plan to do the black inserts on mine to keep the stealth look

Have a silver '04 with the ruby red inserts. I'm more than pleased with the results. But remember, your the one who has to choose. So choose wisely.

Contact Bob White and tell them what your dilemma is. Ask them if they have any scrap material or sample material that they could send you. That way you could look at them and make your selection. Next option is to see if they accept returns. Then order the two or three that you are possiblities and return the ones you don't keep.
They are a little more money, but SS Inserts look great on black!

The chrome ones are nice. It is just that a member here in a black MM has been rear ended 3 times with the chrome ones on though.

Does anyone have the SS inserts on a Silver Birch car? I have the Black BW decals and do like them, but have wondered what the SS ones would look like on there. I would definitely gone with the SS if I had gotten the black car. And I did want the reflective black BW ones, but did not end up with them. Oh well, no big deal.

I do. I can't find a picture now. I'll dig one up when I get home.

Love em. I was torn between the blacked out look (Black decals) or the shiney hiney look. I'm glad I made the decision I made, but to each his own and you preference may be different.

The chrome ones are nice.
SS Inserts are not chrome .... they are mirror polished stainless steel. :D

Mike Poore does and they look great. He posted photos in his gallery but I am not sure that they are there anymore since the shift and upgrade of the site.

I'm debating on what to try to tone down mirror finish of the SS Inserts. I don't necessarily want to remove them because I like the 3D effect. What I'd really like is to make them a flat color - white maybe.
I wonder how close the Bob White decals are to the SS Inserts?

Bob White's decals are decal vinyl tape. You aren't going to have the "thick" look that the stainless steel letters have.

A member or two in the Carolina Marauders has the Bob Whites. I have the SS Inserts. I think that SC Cheeseheads previous MM had the letters hand painted.
It's real hard to go wrong no matter which way you go.
My struggle was between filling and painting or going with the SS Inserts. I bought the inserts, test fit them and turns out I really like them. I like the chrome-like finish against the DTR.

Looks pretty good. I do like how the fill in the letters a little more, but I still like the contrast of the black BW decals I think.

I agree. And seeing pictures like that makes me want to change my plain black BW decals for the reflecting ones and get the rear spoiler. I have been on the fence back and forth on the spoiler, but that is a great picture.

Thanks alot guys!
What you see is a direct result of the input and support from the members of this site. There is no way this car could exist as it does without the the ole-timers input.

Just a brief interlude. Those of you with painted tail and backup lights did you do it yourself or have it done? If you did it how difficult was it and did you remove the lens or paint them while on the car. If you had it done what did it run. I really like that look and am itching to give my DTR the treatment.
Smiles for miles!!!
