Since winter is upon us and I have no other vehicle besides my beloved Marauder, I am looking to get a hold of a set of crown vic p71 steel rims for winter use along with snow tires. I know this has probably been addressed before, but I needed to get the size tires i would need to get and if anyone knows of a place I can at least get the rims for a fair price. I saw a set of rims and tires on Ebay, but unfortunately the seller wont ship them. He lives in Merrimack,NH and I live on Long Island, NY. :( . Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Call TireRack.com. Ask about the wheel and tire package for the Marauder. It may be to late this year to get a set. Once you get the info, come back to the MM.net site and order through here so the site get's it small bit of change. I know they're 16" rims and if you wait till I get home in the morning, I'll get you the tire sizes I have. I don't have traction control so it's really isn't an issue with mine. BTW, this is my 3rd winter with this set up and believe me, I've gone where others have feared to tread so to speak.....

(215/65-16s {front} and 225/70-16s {rear}

There is a set of 16" 12 spoke CV/GM wheels on e-bay for sale. Starting bid is 169 and 75 for shipping from NM. The wheels are from an '04 Gm with a 54mm offset.

I have 05' Police wheels (Crown Vic) with 225/60QR16 Dunlop Graspic DS-2

on all 4 corners and there GREAT in the snow, no rubbing of the wheel

wells or anything either.

I agree - contact Ray (TheDealer) from on here. He will hook you up with a great price in the '03+ CVPI 16" steel wheels - brand new. I think mine with $60/each with shipping (or right around there). Then I ordered the Pirelli Scorpion Snow & Ice from Tire Rack in the size listed above. If you have a '03 300B with traction control, get that size. If not, then your tire size is up to you.

Do a search on here for Pirelli Scorpion and it will bring up some recent threads with good information and reviews of the tire and winter driving. I drive mine year round, unfortunately, and have that setup with traction control and do nothing other than keep a pretty full tank of gas and have had ZERO problem so far this winter. No extra weight added.

I picked up 4 wheels at my local Ford Dealer, I have a friend who works there so I got a great price. If "The Dealer can do $60 @ w shipping, go for it. My part # is 3W7Z-1007-F

I changed things up with tires and went larger diameter to get some extra height. I have Dayton Winterforce made by Firestone. Front = 235/70-16 Rear = 265/70-16. They are massive in comparrison to the OEM tires, but they fit and function wonderfully.

I have T/C and ABS and get no lights, codes or anything of the sort. The tires ar fab in the snow, ice and slush. Because they are so big, I didn't sacrafice much in tread width, so thay are respectable on dry roads as well.

iF needed, I can get some pics posted. Just ask.

I got a set of (4) police package rims on ebay for $20 apiece. Now all I need is the snow tires to go with it. Anyone have pics of their snow tires or suggestions on which ones to go with? I want to order them soon so any help would be great...Thanks!

My personal recommendation, from personal use, would be the Pirelli Snow and Ice from Tire Rack. Here is the salesman I worked with at Tire Rack and he should know what you need:

800.428.8355 x 659

I would recommend the 215/65-16 and 225/70-16 combination for front and rear respectively. If your 2003 is a 300A, that is not as important, but the skinnier tires do work better than a wider one in the snow. And the above tire size combination works such that it does not mess with the factory traction control and ABS.

yep I went with thedealr's rim/tire choice with the mountaineer centercaps.

I keep thinking about wanting a center cap or full hub cap to cover up the rust center of the hub piece. Just haven't done it.

I needed to cover mine ;) surface rust was present. I felt the full covers were more crown vic ish so I went mercury logo. I almost got the polished lip to go with it but reistsed somehow. Black magic is still used.

I'm also using the Scorpion tires and 7 slot CVPI wheels. There's some pics in my gallery. So far they've been pretty good in the snow.

Well, (knock on wood) we have had pretty much NO snow since Christmas. But prior to that, we had plenty from early-to-mid November up to Christmas. And I would trade driving around with the Pirelli's on just in case than getting caught in another snow storm or an amount of accumulation with the stock wheels on. Although, I did so wish to have the stock wheels back on to look good while out and about today enjoying near 50 degree weather today here in Iowa.
