transmission problems, only 14k miles

hi, anyone had any trans problems yet? it takes 3-5 seconds or longer to engage reverse when car is warm. Car is a stock 2003.

I think 03' suffer form more tranny problems. I got my 2003 MM w/ 6,000mi

because the last owner was having cronic tranny problems. The car was

returned, then auctioned off to a "RAV" Lincoln dealer (Reaquired Vehicle

dealer) where they fixed it and I bought it. No problems and have 18,000mi

now. I would consider bringing it to a "RAV" dealer if one is in your area.

69cobra, there is a TSB on adjusting the shift cable that addresses this...do a search here, I know it's been brought up before...

Yes, do a search on transmission problems, transmission failures and all, but don't let it scare you away.
I'm told by reliable sources that they can, indeed, be made to run for more than a year.

well, after 3 weeks at the dealer, finally fixed. thank goodness to u guys, as it was only a shift linkage adjustment. If i hadn't brought in a copy of a page from this site identifying the problem, i think they might have taken the whole trans out!
