Breadfan/Mike brought this up as an idea a week or two ago. There was some interest expressed. So here's a vote/poll to get it rolling .... :D

Saturday, 28 January 2006
Doors open at 10 AM.

The S.O.B. and I will likely take the Metro to Mount Vernon Place or Gallery Place/Chinatown like last year. Will shoot for an 11 AM arrival. Can plan a link up at the FORD Display at Noon !! Any takers??? :D

I am interested. To soon to vote. I am off until 1/2/06 and since that is where my calender is..... you get my drift.

And the MM may be out of service for awhile as it under goes engine cosmetic surgery.

Charlie, I said yes, just me, so I could get to the discussion part, but actually don't know at this date. I see you and George will be taking Metro, which answerers my first question. I/we would be taking Metro from Shady Grove, and it could work out to be a very nice outing; although, I'm not seeing anything in the Ford/LM lineup that excites me. :)

I just picked the FORD display as a meeting/jumping off point. There is always plenty to see and often some surprises like the Formula 1 Driving simulator, the Maybach, the Bentley Continental GT, and the Mercedes SLR McLaren. I am hoping to see that Bugatti Veyron 16.4 this year. :D

Of course, we could arrange to meet at the Volvo or Saab display or under the giant "R" sticker in the Honda area. ;)

Diane and I are planning to go and my son may join us. He'll probably wander over to the rice patties and look at the Honda's and others. Those companies actually pay him to put stickers on his car (and install their products) as long as he brings his car to a few shows each year.

Perhaps we could set up a test drive of one of them Veyron things. The Car & Driver test drive article was sensational.

As for the Volvo display, I'm thinking it's gonna be over there with the Fords.

And the Saab, don't get me started!

I like new Saab ad though; "Just look in the rear view mirror, and watch 'em dissapear!".

Yeah! That's because they're all in front of you!

I'll let Defyant do the high speed driving. I get a little skittish over 150 MPH. ;) ........ 253 is INSANE !!!!!

OK --- then the FORD display at 12 Noon, right????

I am kinda disappointed at the number of folks from Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, and Florida who are unwilling to drive hundreds or thousands of miles to visit Washington, DC for a couple hours and have a rare opportunity to eat lunch with us CAMers. ;)

Kennyrauder is just too far away.....Timmins Ontario Canada.... & to get to mild driving climes would take me at least 2 days..let alone the other 1850 miles.Enjoy the car show. There are some quick machines coming out of the factories but Ford better get off it's ass and show some high performance vehicles because us Marauder guys can only shoulder the bean counters for so long. My Marauder has had an extreme makeover by Dennis Reinhart & I say bring on the latest, it don't bother me cuz' wer'e the GREATEST.

It's an easy trip, though, when you think about it. Fly into Reagan National, and hop on the subway for a few minutes ride to visit everything Washington. Never mind it's next to China Town for the best Asian cuisine to be found on the east coast.

I'm not gonna hype the "International" Car Show, though, because it's not. It's a bunch of local dealers with some factory participation and they move from city to city. Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington are the best hereabouts; but by the time they visit city's like Harrisburg, it's just local dealers, and in a word, sucks.

I'm not slamming it though, because it's always fun, and the big dealerships in the large metro areas always bring some cool exotics. We just don't bother with Harrisburg anymore.

Indoor soccer season in upon us. I coach in two leagues; Sat-Sun thru March, so I will probably be unavailable on the week-ends until then. Have fun!

Now wouldn't a meeting here in the Heartland be a lot more convenient for all :) We can all go to a calf fry.

Noon it is. I'll be there. Um, with my cell phone, of course.

Still can't figure what yesterday was about.

Must have been Gordon pulling a trick on us.:dunno:

I was thinking of coming down with Gordon and Chris, but I'm gonna have to find something to eat before the nooner at Ford, and they like to sleep in on Saturdays, so I may just head off to Shady Grove Station on my own, a little early.

Guess I could pack a sammich.

Everybody's packing iron, right?

Now what did I do?

Yes we will be sleeping in, you try waking Chris up on a weekend.

No iron, but maybe a little plastic.

See you all there at Noon or a little after. :P

Now what did I do?

It was funny, Gordon. I got a one ringer on my cell and Charlie got one, as well, but it hung up before he could answer, and he thought he saw my name on the caller ID. So, naturally, we just balmed you.

Yes we will be sleeping in, you try waking Chris up on a weekend.

I made that mistake once; better (and safter) to let the girl sleep.:nono:

No iron, but maybe a little plastic.

Glocks work.

See you all there at Noon or a little after.

We'll catch up. Dinner with the guys, after, right? Then we can ride the train back, together.

Safety in numbers, y'know.

Lessee, your Glock 14 rounds, and my PPKS, 7 + an extra clip, 7 more, um, what's Chris bringing?

If you are gonna have a nooner at Ford, I am gonna get there early for a good seat. :D Not sure that it'll be good for the car business but it sure will make the 6 o'clock news.
