The backrest on my drivers side seat seems to be having a problem.
If you look at it from sitting behind in the back seat the vertical section of the backrest on the side nearest the door seems to have come adrift.
Any suggestions on a simple fix or is this something I should leave to the dealer and extended warranty?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I had the seat frame repalced in mine under warranty. A couple of welds had popped and the seat back was twisted to the right by about 2 inches.
No problems since. And my right hip pain deminished!!

Let your dealer fix it.
There is a Side Air Bag in the seat.

When I had my lumbar repaired the shop foreman noticed that the harness for the side air bag was pinched in the seat frame.

Just for the general database: I had to have the seat backs replaced in BOTH front seats within 10,000 km. They were creaking like crazy, and would drive you nuts on a trip of any duration. It also looked really bad when you were taking engineers or contractors out for a tour. Not exactly the impression you want to make as a salesman. I had thought I gotten a "Friday" car, but it looks like it must be more common than I thought. At least it was all replaced under warranty (like everything else that has gone wrong, I might add).
Best of luck with your dealer,
