Anybody had to replace the hood gasprings yet? My hood doesn't pop up where you can get your fingers under it anymore and it seems like it barely stays up on its own. I reckon it's gonna be another warranty repair soon.

Is that pretty much the last bit of your car that could have warranty work to it? :coolman:

Well... Power windows, power door locks, power seats, air suspension, climate control, a few things like that.

Is it really the hood struts that would cause the hood to pop up against the safety catch giving you the room to reach underneath? The reason I am skeptical about this is that after releasing the safety catch I find I need to pull up on the hood a fair amount before the struts extend enough to an angle where they will then pull the hood open by themselves.
So that leads me to believe that the little 'pop up' that happens when you hit the hood release is actually something down in the latch area. On my GTA and '78 Trans Am, there are visible springs that lift the hood against the safety catch (the GTA is on the hood up front right next to the safety catch, the '78 is a wire spring on the radiator 'brace'). My WS6... no idea, it might or might not be the hood strut, but one thing for sure is that the WS6 hood lifts mighty quick once I release the safety catch.
Let us know what you find. Might want to start by greasing up the latch mechanism.
Time to get out the WD40 with the snorkle!
