Seems to be foul play in the deaths of a young couple from Fort Myers, and as the report says: "Investigators say they know how and about when Steven and Michelle Andrews, both 28, were killed inside their home at 12221 Eagle Pointe Circle."
The part that got me involved was "The Andrews stayed in shape by working out, walking and jogging. They owned three vehicles, including a new Mercury Marauder."
I have an alert setup on Google News to send me any articles that contain the word Marauder - and this link was in my mailbox this morning.

Either way, this is a really unfortunate incident and very sad. :(

I have attended many Florida get together's and reviewed my picture files of gatherings and I don't recall this young couple....doesn't really matter, this is a terrible, terrible tragedy.

He bought his car at our dealership in November of this year. Salesman brought him out to meet me. He was pretty excited about the car. I gave him a card and he said he wanted to join the club and mod his car. Don't know if he was a member or maybe a lurker? What a real tragedy:(
This is really sad. My prayers go out to the familes of the couple and the surviving child.
He also served on the board of the Cypress Pointe Homeowners Association.
Having seen how heated some people can get over fights with their neighborhood associations, I hope police aren't overlooking anyone that may have wanted to put up a giant flagpole or fence their yard recently.

Although this is unfortunate, it's kind of weird how a MM gets mentioned in a homicide news article.

Maybe he was as fond of it as we all are and when interviewing friends/neighbors they all said he loved working on his marauder?

May the authorities capture the perps after they have to shoot and only wound them for resisting arrest. Then they should get the electric chair after they partially recover and admit guilt.

They aren't releasing any info yet. Here's (http://www.news-press.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060103/NEWS01/60103005/1075) the article. I'll post a link as soon as they release something.

that is interesting they mention the MM, what about the other cars?
A very sad story. One can only hope it's resolved quickly.

Was it supercharged? Could have been a victim of the supercharger wars. :shake:
(seriously: from behind the keyboard, the animosity just seems to get so ridiculous sometimes, on something so trivial as a car part!).
Anyway, I thought about this story this morning as I was putting on my coat and boots to head off to work... from the entrance, it's a straight view to where my 9 month-old son's high chair is located. He had one of those frozen grins on his face that he gets when he sees me, a look of sheer happiness that makes one feel at the top of the world, but when he saw me put on my coat his smile drooped and his cheeks flopped... I guess he's figured out that this means I'll be leaving. For this couple's child, there was also a last look that happened at some point during that fateful day. And there won't be a moment of sheer and utter joy that would happen when he'd see them again.

Welp thats one way of looking at it.
The reason i asked this was maybe whoever did it may have touch or done something to the car that the police know about and specifically mentioned this car to get a reaction from the criminals..I sure as hell ain't no kojak and don't claim to be.:nono: .
If you have a lot of time on your hands, there is an interesting forum where replies sometimes fly in a new one a minute, where some information has been posted by people who saw the crime scene, as well as friends and family of the deceased. Quite the reading! For the LEOs out there and the others who like to read about intriguing stuff, this is the place to be!

I'm not trying to pi$$ off the locals from the Ft Meyers area, either.
By the looks of the replies, probably one MM.net person has posted a reply, but I am just guessing. It was the only reply out of many, which mentioned the car being cool.
The latest story (http://www.news-press.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060111/NEWS01/601110423/1075), posted today, says the Sheriff is waiting on DNA results and was back in the community to hunt for more evidence.
They found some white tennis shoes by a Girl Scout building and took them into custody. Doesn't sound too promising though.

People with histories like this don't deserve to walk freely.

That doesn't sound fair. It appears the guy hadn't been in trouble since his earlier arrests when he was a teenager.
A fuller version of the story (http://www.news-press.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060111/NEWS01/60111013/1075).
The first recorded arrest in 1993, just before Cooper turned 15, was for driving without a license, obstructing justice and theft. The second arrest came four months later, also for theft.
Cooper’s troubles with the law escalated and the next year, when he was 16, he was convicted of burglarizing a dwelling and sentenced to three years in custody.
It’s unclear how much time he served, but obviously not his full sentence since he was again arrested for burglary in 1996.
By the time Cooper turned 18 in 1996, he was convicted again of burglary. He served three years of a four year sentence, getting out of prison in Aug. 1999.
Cooper apparently settled into domestic life after prison.
With the exception of a couple of speeding tickets in the last few months, Cooper had steered clear of law enforcement since serving time.
While not attempting to excuse the murder of 2 people, I certainly wouldn't describe him as a career-criminal. He had served his time and had been clear of trouble for the last 6 years.

I agree. Why did he have to kill them? Just go to work and beat the **** out of the guy if it means that much to you. If reports are true he ***** the poor woman before he killed her.

Most definately let him FRY :flamer: :uzi:
If he did in fact commit a rape on the wife, I'm guessing that's where the DNA evidence came from that linked him to the crime.
Man, I thought everyone had watched at least one episode CSI (L.V., Miami, or N.Y. ... Take your pick!) by now. That's how they catch you now, your DNA gets everywhere and "Bob's your uncle!" ... Off to jail you go.
Well at least everyone else in that neighborhood can dial down the paranoia about a "killer" stalking their gated little communities. Like usual, the crime came back to the simplest explaination ... a cheating husband whose mistress had a boyfriend who objected violently to that relationship.
Who wants to take bets that the boyfriend claims hubby used his "position" of authority at work to force a relationship on his girlfriend/significant-other ... and that when he found out it caused him to snap and that he was "disassociated" from the gruesomeness of the crime? I guess I've been watching to much Law & Order SVU too.

Make sure the murderer has ample opportunity to do himself in while in his cell. He can do himself and everyone else a favor with a razorblade cut on his wrists or a sheet or belt tied to his bars for a noose.
