My trans output seal is leaking bad. I think it is because of the drive shaft being out of balance. I took the car to a high speed and we I got home there is oil all over the back of the car, leaking out of the out put shaft of trans. Is there a tsb for the drive shaft or do just have to buy a new one. Thanks..

What is your high speed, just out of curiousity? I've heard about 130 MPH with 4.10 gears can do some damage.

Happened to me when I went to 4.10's and removed the speed limiter. Got the Dynotech driveshaft and fixed it.

All the car will run 148mph I know that was not a good thing to be doing but I was going down the road minding my own busness, and a guy in a MB wanted to race and he did out run me bad but I just left it to the floor thinking he might back out of it but he never did just left me. I got home and look the MB up on the net it has 604hp and cost 185k but I still do not fill any better.

If it goes to 148 it's chipped. Stock speed limiter is about 117.

2004's must have had a higher limit, I know this somehow.

Yes it has a diabo chip in it that is the only mod. I have a o3 cobra that will run over 180mph so I thought I would try to leave the MM stock so I can have something I can drive with out working on it. The chip is good for speed limiter and trans life. Thanks for the post guys looks like I need a drive shaft or slow down.

Most likely the seal is not leaking, it came out of the tailshaft.
Happened to me. My dealer ordered me a new tailshaft housing and replaced it under warranty. I upgraded the driveshaft at the same time and no problems since.

The dealer said the seal push out because the drive shaft was out of balance and was check. The tail shaft housing is the wright one the long one, some cars had short tail housings so not being change but will be replace to oem. The ford rep that was called said there is a problom with driveshafts and tail housings and did ask if the car had stock gears and it does. I did look at the seal it was push out from the brass bushing in the tail housing. I will air the car out when I get it out of the shop and see what happen and post. I have order new tires 255-45-18 bfg all corners and post if the abs light comes one. Thanks
