Not sure if these have already been posted somewhere around here. Below is the link. You need to scroll about half way down the page and you'll see a heading titled "Marauders and Supercars".

These are a couple interesting interviews, but they don't show enough car. It looks like they are standing in front of the convertible Marauder.

It sounds like the Chief Engineer wanted a little more under the hood.

He stopped just short of saying "supercharger".

Neat videos, thanks.

I think Dick had it right when he said in the Marauder video you

provided "the is no replacment for displacment" Dick, the chief

Engineer for Marauder might have just told you one of the main

downfalls of the MM. Thanks for sharing those videos, they make me

sad for some reason :(

Talking to the MM Project Manager, Steve Babcock a year ago, as has been stated on this board before by others, the 2003/4 MM was designated to have the S/C available. But, it was killed by the M/L VP at the very last minute. Ford was so close to having a real 4 door sedan performer to compete with the Chrysler Hemi products. Very sad!

Competing? How about demolishing? Beautiful looks AND take no prisoners power!

Maybe in the end it was best that Ford NOT produced a S/C'ed Marauder. Recall that 2003 appeared to be dark ages for Q/A on Ford products (with the financial scares of 2002/2003) and who knows what corners would have been cut. At least we can benefit from having some well-engineered aftermarket forced-induction options available that were not stunted by bean counters.

Notice the antifreeze was green, not the newer piss yellow like in my 300a.

I don't know about that. My buddy has an 03' Harley Davidson f-150 w/

5.4 S/C and man that truck is as detailed if not more then my Marauder.

Only problems with it since new (23,000mi now) is the moon roof track,

but man they put in nice detail. HD emblems, chrome around the speedo

culsters, custom leather etc. I think Ford could have done the S/C and

more for 35-37K for us...

Marketing decided to "laser focus" on enthusiast TV shows, magazines and web sites instead of advertising to the broad market. But, on managemen side, they nixed the supercharger from the start (remember, it was on the concept car - the seden AND the convertible) and nixed it as an option after production. The KB Marauder (Mac's car) got high marks, but normal production MM's got lukewarm reception from thos magazines, web sites, etc. They should have advertised it more widely, like DC has done with the 300C, Magnum, and SRT series, and maybe they would have moved enough to justify the costs of upgrading the DOHC to fly-by-wire for '05 and beyond, or even greenlight the 3 valve.

Course, this is easy to say hindsite. It would have helped if they hadn't priced it at $34,495 in 2002, too.

BTW, somebody tell the host "point microphone towards your self when you talk, towards the guest when they talk." yeesh.
