Hlelp !
The Last Two buttons I use to lock the MM won't work all the time.
I either have to press with my two thumbs real, real hard or they won't work? Otherwise all the rest do ok. ie. I can use my unlock code and
unlock the doors and trunk etc.
Any thoughts???
Thanks,
Warren

I had to replace mine (1-2 would not work to change codes). It is an easy job after the door panel is removed.
A funny story goes with this: I bought my MM used and found another keypad under my driver's seat that works fine.

When you input the 5 didgit code in, push 5-6 to open the trunk. You could also hit 3-4 to unlock the other doors after the code is put in.

You can open the trunk with the door key pad? Did not know!! How?After entering your personal code and hearing the front door unlock...pressing 3/4 thereafter will unlock ALL doors, and 5/6 will pop the trunk.
7/8 + 9/0 always locks everything.
This is true for ALL Ford and L/M products with OEM keypads.;)
It's in the owner's manual.***

Yep, you got them mixed up a bit.
3/4 unlocks all the doors
5/6 opens the trunk
7/8 and 9/0 at the same time locks the doors (even if the keys are in the ignition and the car is running)

Well the keypad's last 2 buttons finally broke thru and I need to install a new one.
I picked the keypad up at the Ford dealer today.
How do I install - How do I get out the old and put in the new one?

After removing the door panel, there is a "c" clip that holds the keypad in. remove the clip and it should come out with the plug attached. Unplug the keypad.

I just got a gloss black keypad that I'd like to install. Anyone know if I could use a trim pen or something on the outside of the door to unlatch the pad, and change it without taking off the inside door panel?

The door panel has to come off to replace the pad. The clip for the pad is not accessible from the outside.

Besides if you somehow (no freakin way) got the clip off from the outside, it would fall in the door cavity and further, how would you get teh clip back on?!
Take off the door panel. Have a mirror and a flashlight handy. Some offset pliers may help, but plain old needlenose will do.
