I have been planning my single to dual exhaust conversion since I got my Marquis a few months ago, well it is finally installed. I had the exhaust shop custom bend 2.25' pipe with Hooker Aerochamber mufflers, H-pipe, and Marauder resonator-delete tips. I am VERY pleased with the end results. It has a really deep tone with a very distinct rumble. It has a sound that is clearly the trademark Ford burble without the hollow sound of a Flowmaster. I had to "persuade" the guy at the muffler shop to do what I wanted because we had a liitle difference of opinion. He wanted to use factory ford pipes and just weld in some mufflers and tips, but I knew that stock 2.0 pipe would not give me the sound I wanted. He also wanted to use Flowmasters, he said that it would not be loud at all if I did not because of the four factory cats. He said that Flowmasters amplify sound by bouncing the sound waves around in the chambers. I told him that the Aerochambers were like a cross between a Flowmaster and a Magnaflow he did not really understand me. When I brought the muffler in and he examined it and saw that it has a slightly chambered design but that you could see right out the other end, he was like "wow, it is kind of like a cross between a Flowmaster and a Magnaflow". I was like no sh%#! O.K. this has turned into a very long ramble but the overall point is I am extremely happy with this combo and I will be posting a sound clip soon. :hotrice: :2thumbs:
