Finally I got a delivery date!
I've been lurking the last few months, wondering if I'm ever going to get the Silver MM - now I have good news.
Crossroads L-M (Indianapolis) called Monday and the car'll be here 4/21 (maybe earlier - that's the day after Easter). First stop is to give it a moonroof (a Webasto Solaire) and then it goes to Kenny Brown to become "Signature Edition #10". When it comes home to Chicago, it gets an alarm and remote start from Driven Technologies; they'll also install a vehicle locator from Intertrak (www.trackmenow.com).
Then it's time for some road trips!
About time!

Congrats MARK. Maybe the two of us could hook up when you get the car. There's a great car show that I know of. It's at Frato's on the corner of Roselle and Weathersfield.
Mark
You and I are going to have a race to see who gets our silver MM first. Mine was built last Friday and I'm hoping to get it by the end of next week.

Yeah! I hope we can crash "squad nite" at the Westmont Car Nite in June, and have a batch o'Marauders there (and in Downers' Grove as well).
dok: You'll beat me - I've got too much aftermarket to make it any quicker.

MARK,
Do you know where Woodfire is by any chance? We could meet up there. BTW, you know I'm only 17 right?
mensrea: you have #1!?

Actually it's number 1X, if you look at Car and Driver and Autoweek reviews, you can see the number on the intercooler....
Mine was the prototype (that's what the X means) and was used by the media as their test car, it is still solid as the day Kenny built it. He makes an incredible machine.

Dok,
How do you know the day yours was built? Is there away to track it?
Called my dealer yesterday. He originally stated 4/7, now he says
any day, but did mention the 14th. (same as your original date).
He said he would inquire & call back.

Jefferson-Mo, thanx.
Just got a call from my dealer, he states the car won't be here next week, should be the week after (week of the 21st?).
He stated "You know it's coming from Canada, it's a border issue".
????
Anyway, he did give me the VIN#, what do you mean by PM.
Post Mail??
You don't recommend making it public on this site?
Or find your personnal email, how?
I'm still learning here, thanx again.

Hey Ron, where in NJ are you? We "allowed" some of the guys from NJ to come to the last NY Meet. You should come to the next one in your slick silver car.
Ron
Let us know what you find out about the build date.

Your dealer should be able to give you access to the Burlington-Northern site so you can track progress of your car.
The train makes numerous stops around MI at places where ford plants are, then goes to a rail yard where new trains are made up for various destinations across the US. It's interesting to follow, and it will give you an eta to the rail yard nearest your dealer
Jefferson-Mo,
Thanx for the info on the build date (4/8). Yes the interior is correct as ordered, Dark Charcoal. The only option I went w/ was the heated seats.
So much for the "Border Issue", he told me a while back that the car was already built.
Marto,
I'm 10 minutes from the Delaware Memorial Bdge.
RC Signals,
I inquired about tracking it when he told the car was already built a while back. He stated it wasn't possible, now I know why.
What do you think for ETA, (2) weeks from build date?

Dealer told me that it takes as little as 12 days and as long as 16 days. That means the earliest it could be here is April 16. Came home this morning to a message on the answering machine that the car should be in Monday. I'm not holding my breath.
It might take a couple of days less to get to Jersey as compared to North Carolina.

Odd. Maybe they just don't want to give you a password.
It could be about two weeks after the build date, depends if they have enought cars assembled to make up a train.
If you PM me your VIN I can see if I can still access the site to track it. I'll be away after the 15th though

I just found out that the Silver MM arrived at Crossroads L-M in Indianapolis yesterday, and is getting PDI'd today. It gets a Webasto Solaire sunroof tomorrow and I'm going to get the speakers replaced before it goes to Kenny Brown to become #10. Dave Frey at KB says to expect it at the end of May (apparently the guys at www.fordchips.com that do the reprogramming are a bit, er, 'hard' to get in touch with).
I can't wait.
One more thing - I was wading through all the speaker posts and I can't really determine what the group consensus was on new speakers. Was it Kenwood Excelons or Kenwood 68 series or what? Can those of you who've done it drop me a quick PM with your comments? Especially if you've also done the subwoofer.
The clock is ticking..........

I vote for the Excelons (which I used) You might also want to consider the Infinity Kappas, although I am not sure I they are a direct fit.
Good luck with the new car!

Hi Mark,
Why did you order it from Indy, why not Ogden Ave Motors in Westmont? Did they cut you a great deal?
I'm glad that someone got their silver MM. I ordered mine on February 10. Was told approximately 8 weeks for delivery. Car was built on April 4. Was told 2 weeks from build date. Checked on April 17. Was told delivery date for the week of April 14.
Received a call Saturday. Was told that the car was in Winston-Salem (about 75 miles from here) and would be in on Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
Just got back from the dealer. The car is not in Winston-Salem. It's on a train on it's way. Probably be in sometime early next week.
I told everybody from the beginning that I had to have the car by April 25 as I was driving to Iowa for my mother-in-law's 83rd birthday which is April 29 and I had to have the MM for that trip. We are still going to wait for the MM to arrive before we go, but I am not a happy camper.

I will be taking 50% back roads for that very reason. This way I will be varying my speed quite a bit.

I see you have a Mustang, so you are somewhat familiar with the MM's motor. What was true about the Mustang, is basically true about the MM. "Drive it like you stole it!" The car loves to run, and begs for gears and performance chip. These two mods alone made the MM a much better car. Got 18000+ on my MM that I bought on 11/4/02, and it hasn't even whimpered. Enjoy the MM!

Yeah heard the same thing about long trips on a new motor!
I took my 1992 Grand Marquis down to Florida when she was newer, drove straight thru 22 hours of travel. Five years later and about 65,000 miles on her she started blowing blue smoke!
:nono: :shake:
Talk about waiting for a car!
Back in 1972 or 73 I was waiting for a 1973 Dodge Challenger Rally 340 I had ordered. After the first 8 weeks I was checking on it almost everyday (took almost 12 weeks) to see if she came in. She finally did arrived, I needed someone to take me to the dealer to get her, but no luck, no one was around. The next day I called the salesman to let him know am on the way to get her, that’s when he tells me don't bother it’s not here. “It was stolen last night”! It turned out the dealer was nice enough to leave the car keys in the visor!

My new 2003 Silver Birch MM now has about 11 new miles on it, which coincidentally is the distance between Crossroads LM in Indianapolis and Kenny Brown, where I left it. Gawd that was a nice drive - and it was very hard to keep my foot outta it. I'm also glad I had the speakers replaced with Excelons - it sounds so much better (and with the Dynamat lining the doors, it's very quiet). The sunroof and spoiler look great too (sorry - didn't have a camera).
Dave says it'll be done near the end of June. I hope he gets it done by July 4 - I have a Chicago-to-Pennsylvania road trip planned.
What a great car!
Congrats Mark!
You going "all the way" with her to a Marauder S?

Road trip? Where in Pa.???

Yep - All the way to Marauder-S status!
As for PA: My wife's folks live in Jim Thorpe and run a B&B. I-80 to the northeast (?) extension into the Allegheny Mountains.

I just spoke to Dave Frey at Kenny Brown. They dyno'd my car yesterday and revealed a whopping 230 HP. :depress: No wonder Kenny Brown has such a lucrative business.
On another note: I resigned my job last week (the company was doing some illegal things, so I thought it's time to go), so if anyone knows anyone looking for a high technology in-house attorney (who also has 25 years experience in emergency management with local governmenmt PD and FD) let me know. In this economy, I can use all the help I can get.
Mensrea: What is this? Attorneys with KB Marauder-S's are having a streak of bad luck!:help:
