What is involved in installing the proguards?
Is this the rear piece, skid plate, or both?
Thanks,
David

All my 5 minute jobs usually take a couple hours.
How does the ProGuard connect to the bumper shroud?

I felt in combo of the Xcal2, it did. 03 tranny is irratic w/o anyones tune in general. I called over phone tho for mine... It took 15 mins only cause I got it in december and installed it in the snow. So far my highesr range was 390@ 16.4 gallons refilled. My MM is in the 34K and older for odo readings for a refrence. Once I can be shure the winter mix BS is gone I expect same or higher Ranges :)

Well others have tested this and swear by a MPG improvement, we have two left I am ordering more today, I also have advised Pro Guard about the poor sealing of the ends of the sleeve they send these in, several members have recieved theres with out hardware, I personly never use theres I re'use the OEM fasteners, thanks again for all the orders and support this club has given my company.

it's not the seals of the box but the box completely desintegrating from ups handeling it. The proguard is so strong that it shows it's quality even when thrown all over the place between shipping. The box was DOA and just so happen to still had screws and paperwork.

OK, found it! Just print the instructions. It's a snap.
After switching off the load leveling shocks, I put the '04 MM on jack stands and went to work. There were some coments about fitment issues; but mine fit just fine, rough side down. Although installation is fairly straightforward, I did make some changes which others might find helpful. :hmmm:
Remove the two retaining screws from the bumper. (1/4" nut driver)
Remove the two nuts from the Fuel Separator bracket.
Lift the front of the two clips and slide the carraige bolts forward/off.
Replace with the two new carraige bolts and black retaining washers.
Don't forget the black retaining washers, they're important.
Slide the skid plate between the bumper and the mounting clips.
Since the front is still loose, you can reach up and guide the screws.
Run the two new screws/washers about half way.
Push up on the fuel separator, then the front of the skid plate.
Align the holes onto the carraige bolts.
Put the nuts on the carraige bolts and snug them up. (don't tighten)
Snug up the two screws at the bumper and check for alignment.
Tighten all four nuts and screws; and you're done.
Take car from jack stands.
Turn switch for load leveling back on, clean your tools, have a beer.
Pat yourself on the back & have another beer.

The ProGuard was an easy install, I have a sloped driveway so I didn't even have to jack the car up. I had all the hardware in the box but the instructions were on 2 pages but it looked like someone forgot to duplex them as I was missing page 2. No matter.... if you can't figure out how the ProGuard is installed just by looking underneath your MM and from all the insructions that have been posted.... you shouldn't be attempting the install..... With my ProGuard installed properly, pebbled finish down, there is not as much clearance between it and the left side tip as there is on the right side....... No problem tho...... FYI... I didn't use the replacement screws for the bumper side. Can't tell if there is any MPG improvment as everytime I'm on a long section of highway some idiot wants to race..... I had to hit 115 from 70MPH to blow off the last ricer:D:

Dennis,
I like the proguard recently installed. Great Job!
I would like to know what the status of the front and transmission skid plates ordered at the same time.
When will they ship?
Do the FHP Marauders have front and tranny skid plates. Will they adversely affect cooling?
Thanks,
David (Hitchhiker)
p.s. Love that sex-a-tary!

I have caved in to peer pressure on this one. After looking at the pics again, and seeing how it finishes off the the back, I just had to do it. Plus, we don't want Dennis to have too much inventory on hand. He keeps such a neat and clean shop, we don't want it cluttered....
Dennis, you have a message...

I finally remembered to order a ProGuard today, the bonus that it was in stock. It was also pretty nice that Deb remembered my name, and it's been over a year since I ordered anything - although there was a lot of stuff heading my way back then.
You've got some good help there Dennis, you better be taking good care of her!
