Hi all,

I was headed to work Saturday morning around 5:20 AM. It's dark and cold out as I pull up to a red light on Hwy 29. (4 lane) Next to me in the right lane is a (1999 - 2004) Mustang. As the light changes to green (no traffic at all) and I start to accelerate I hear the Mustang's engine growl as it starts to move a head a little. (You know what comes next.) I figure I'll see what this Mustang's got. Peddle down, Marauder moves into power band, Mustang moves into rear view mirror. (It sounded like he really got on it and it was definitely a V8 so it had to be a GT but it wasn't a Cobra because I later saw Mustang on the bumper cover. Too dark to see the GT.) Once he was securely behind be I let off and let him pass as I had a right turn coming up. Maybe he wasn't on it as much as I thought but he sure dropped back faster than I expected. My Marauder is bone stock except for tented windows and they only make the car look fast. It was short but fun.

Couldn't tell you cause the GT I went up against was MTX and I was still on the dealership 87 octane. Wasn't a week later I got my custom intake and found the same mustang on a friday night....doing drifts in the best buy parkinglot. Shortly after another member and myself were fleeing that same parkinglot.

Bought my wife a 2000 Mustang GT convertible a while back. Far as I know it's all stock. Specs say 260 hp, weighs about 800 lbs less than a Marauder. It's pretty quick. I would say that before I added the Xcal2 Dennis Reinhart tune to the Marauder, the Stang would have been much quicker from a dead stop. After adding the tune I would say they would likely be neck and neck. I think the mustang gt chickened out on ya.

Funny thing is... when my wife drives around in the stang there is always some joker at the stoplight looking for a race. I never get that with the Marauder.

What is MTX??? And why were you running 87 octane on your Marauder? Was it tuned for 87?

MTX is an abbreviation for a weird 3-pedal system used in many performance cars :)

Sadly, it's not an abbreviation we get to use much around here :(

I thought he said the dealer had put 87 octane in the car... perhaps before he purchased it....

Yep MTX was missused ment to used MT but same concept we can't use for our stock hawtnesses. 87 was in the car and after swaping to the cheveron 93 I noticed the mpg and smiles per mile drasticly change.
