The Motor City Marauders would like to announce it’s third annual Woodward Dream Cruise gathering that will occur on August 19,2006. This will be the third time Marauders have been Cruisin’ Woodward in mass. This year the IMOA will be attending Woodward as their National Event, and will be joining us at the Burger King lot at Woodward. It should be known that this event will not be done to the same scale as MVIII. This is the largest of our locally sponsored events that will be part of our summer events schedule. This event is open to anyone on mm.net as well. We would love to have you guys join us again this year.

We'll be sharing the lot with the IMOA, so our space will be limited to about 40 Marauders or so. Look for details in the next couple of weeks. This will strictly be first come, first served in reserving your parking spot on Woodward. We just wanted to give you guys a heads up for vacation planning and time off purpouses. We will also be planning some events around the Cruise again, just not as formal as MVIII was. Trust us, you will be pleased with the effort again! Stay Tuned for more!

Just a few other early details for inquiring minds:

As Dave said, we are sharing the BK lot with the IMOA. With the IMOA expressing interest in having thier National Event at the WDC in 2006, and the cost of the lot going up (a lot), we thought it was best to do a joint venture. The IMOA are a great group and the whole lot will be Mercury!! Very cool!!

As of today, we HAVE officially secured the BK lot. So that's not an issue. The 3rd Annual Marauders Cruisin' Woodward will happen:banana:

Trilogy will be a major sponsor (as they have the past two years). Jerry and his talented bunch will be assisting the MCM crew administrate the event as well as act as the IMOA coordinator (as Jerry is the Regional IMOA guy).

The only other thing I can add is to say that spots will be limited as we are sharing the lot. So stay tuned if you want to be there!

I'm in!

But not with the Marauder!

Eliot remembered the thing about the IMOA being there (like a numbskull, I had forgotten), and has given me the task of getting his '63 Meteor running by the day of the Woodward Dream Cruise. This "deadline" will be a fantastic motivator for me as we work on his car this spring. It currently has no motor in it.

I cannot possibly think of a better time than spending the WDC day with the Motor City Marauders, while at the same time seeing Eliot's pride in his ride, as he shows it off to the IMOA guys. I am psyched beyond belief!:beatnik:

Please let me know when money is due. I'll make sure to sign up through the IMOA, so I will count as one of "their" spots at BK.

Thanks for the info. Count me in for the WDC. Also what is the address and Phone Number for the Hampton that we stayed in last year. I would like to make reservations.
Thanks Dale

I can't be sure, but I think Dave was going to arrange for a block of rooms at the Hampton again. Sit tight for a few days and see if this happens. Dave may be able to get you a price break if it happens. Of course the block of rooms would be a little smaller, but I'm sure the Hampton would love to have the Marauder folks again.

Please be sure to check the updated information Post for the Dream Cruise:

We are working on the itinerary and some things are just falling into place! Lidio would love to have another dyno day, so that will happen. The Ford Motorsport Enthusiest folks will have Milan Dragway to themselves the Thursday before the cruise (Saturday). This will mean low cost, as many of us as can go! I dont know about you, but what is a Marauder get together without a little drag racing!! I mean, did you mod your Marauder to enter it into the Car Show at a Fun Ford Weekend or NMRA weekend?! Hell no! Our event will have very affordable Drag Racing. I am talking with Jerry Barnes about an open house again at Trilogy. It seems this event is going to plan itself and just need a little fine tuning to be almost as good as last year. Stay tuned for more!!

Yes, there will be a block of rooms at the Hampton again this year. I am working on having the IMOA join in so the rooms will have a good discount. Wait for the announcement before reserving your room.

Jerry from IMOA told me that the IMOA host hotel would be at the Holiday Inn in Livonia. However, that may only be tentative? Or, depending upon their turn-out, they may need some rooms at the Hampton, too. It is closer to Woodward, anyhow.

Hey guys...

As it stands right now, we will be attending the WDC again this year. This will be our 3rd straight WDC in a row. The Hampton Inn was fantastic last time, and we would love to stay there again.

I'll stay tuned for phone numbers, dates, times etc.

Just to keep folks informed, I am negotiating with the Hampton Inn again this year, they are pleased we are returning. I will have the details worked out by next week and you can start reserving your rooms then. For those that didnt make it to MVIII, the Hampton Inn really took care of our group, above and beyond! You wont be dissapointed.

No kidding...we're actually really looking forward to the WDC again this year, just to stay in that hotel. Last years stay was fantastic. It's clean, convienient, comfortable, and has free breakfast! C'mon now...you can't beat that!! Let us know when you work your magic Dave so we can make our reservations asap.

But down the road in the SSR Compound. There's kinda a SSRville event, with some tours sponsored by GM, a picnic on Sunday (a meet and greet with some plant people and owners). I'll come by make myself my usual annoyance.

Any word on how the IMOA section of the lot is filling up?

I'm guessing that they have extra spots there, since they had to cancel the IMOA show that they had originally scheduled for the day before the Dream Cruise.

Hopefully, we can get all the spots in the BK lot filled up with Marauders and other Mercury vehicles. But, if not, do we have a contingency plan?

We will be parking Eliot's Meteor on the IMOA side, but will probably come over to the MM side (where we know everyone) to party. :D

I haven't heard anything about the lot situation ... still thrashing on Eliot's Meteor to make sure we make it there and home safely.

23 days until Woodward!

Unfortunately, my car will not be ready for the Dream Cruise so I have to cancel. Yeah, the blower will be on but the timing to get the tune perfected and still make it out is just too close for comfort.

I also have a room booked at the host hotel that I will be cancelling if someone does not speak up for it.

So, before you submit your lot $100, you can buy mine and I'm sure Mike or Dave can transfer it into your name.

Thanks!

John
