View Full Version : Who participated in the Dyno Day at Lidios at MVIII @ Woodward last year?

I just realized that we made an oversite on one trophy from MVIII last year at Woodward. Lid was supposed to give us a list but we forgot about it. We had Trophies for the big dogs on the dyno, and we didnt hand out the trophy for Top RWHP for a NA Marauder. So do me a favor, if you did a dyno pull at Lidios and know what your NA Marauder pulled on the dyno, let me know. PM me with your results from the dyno sheet he gave you. Honor system here Gentlemen, I can verify your results when you give me, Lid keeps the files by name. Let me know! Tis a nice trophy!
Looks just like this one but reads: BEST DYNO PULL - NA

I will need to find my sheets. Been meaning to scan them for a while now anyway. Not sure what the results were but I doubt I will be the winner here (just programming and gears).

So far, this is all of the responses I have received.
Bigjohn:
Best Pull = 259.4 RWHP
Shakes 26:
Best Pull = 270.9 RWHP
GarageMahal
Best Pull = 260.x RWHP
04funmerc
Best Pull = 249.8 RWHP
Remember, N/A Marauders only, any other mods ok, if you made pulls at the MVIII dyno day at Lidio's Speak up for your trophy.

DARN! I arrived late that evening and missed the Dyno session....
I'd have to 'DQ' myself anyway because I'm no longer a 4.6L.
(318RWHP/340RWTQ with a conservative tune and only 200 miles on the new engine...talk about 'breaking' the engine in fast!)
P.S. That trophy in your post looks much better on my mantle!! :D

High run was 260 RWHP 277 Torque. Not sure why my number were much higher last year (before the 4:10s) but I am not worried about. Its the track that counts and my times dropped over .5 second from MVII.

No it's not! You have decided to delete any messages posted on this thread that didn't suit you. It's a pattern I noticed on the various MMVlll threads, and one I find quite disturbing.
Dave, in my humble opinion, heavy handedness will eventually distroy the MM net. This is an open forum and you should not, moderator or not, edit or delete posts based upon your personal agenda. :nono:

Well when I took the picture of your plaque -- I didn't want to give the impression that I had mounted it permanently at my place. But I did think about telling you that "My dog ate it" or "I forgot to bring it" or something.

Gosh, Paul, you consider mine and other post's to that thread, including your own, to be clutter?
Since when have we taken it upon ourselves to wield editorial power, here. Sure, if a comment is in bad taste, political, or way off topic; but that was not the case in any of those posts, and frankly, some of 'em were gems. In the past, when any of the above were noted, a moderator would chastise the offender and eliminate the comment, with explanation, or lock the thread, with explanation.
To assume the power to eliminate someone's post, as clutter, is beyond the scope of what I feel is the role of a moderator, and frankly, outrageous.
Surely you're not suggesting the author of a thread should be able to eliminate any posts to a thread he started that didn't suit him.
Good grief, where is the MM net headed?:dunno:

Paul, the last thing I want to do is upset good friends like you, or any of our new best friends, in Detroit.
Surely it is/was not my intent to get on your case, or attack you in any way. It's what happened that bothers me, and how, and why it is permitted.
Knowing that it happened in this instance makes one wonder if it's a general practice.
And, please, good friend, you know in your heart; this has nothing to do with Detroit.
As for whining to Logan, I don't do that, nor will I. We're adults and able to air our concerns and differences in the open, like grownups and gentlemen.
Um, does this mean we won't be invited to the wedding? ;)

I am sorry if cleaning up the thread offended anyone. It was not my intention. I am especially sorry that Mike took as much offense to it as he did. There were a couple of posts with numbers posted that werent from the dyno day in question. I forgot myself that Paul didnt make a run that day untill he actually posted it. I think someone else posted 900 HP or something. I started this thread to get an answer to a question, pure and simple. Should I have posted in the initial post here asking only those involved to post info? If a post is off track then I guess its my choice to clear it up so its easier for me to get the info I created it for. Now I have to look thru 2 or 3 pages of crap to look for the next true response to my original question. As for heavy handed....I think I have closed 5 or 6 threads at the request of members reporting problems with them. Trust me, when you click the report post button, it goes into my overstuffed emailbox, I look at it, if the complaint is legit, whether or not I agree with it, I take the action requested, whether its clean up language, to blatent violations. I find it hard to believe that you should get upset at me for cleaning up my own thread of stuff that isnt important to the reason why I created it??? And Mike, I have never ignored or not answered a PM, if this bothered you so much, let me know, and I could have explained things from my perspective, instead of tearing into me and infering my heavy handedness in open forum. I do agree with you on your statement about this kind of stuff killing a forum like this one. I am glad you made your point, and I am equally happy that you got your chance to tear me a new one. Sometimes being on this forum is a real sonofab!tch. I hope you have a great day, take care.

Dave, my post was not about you; but what you did, and how those actions can lead to unintended consequences. (hopefully you understand there is a difference) It's possible for us to argue, and discuss issues without becoming angry, and I'm sure neither of us are.
As far as getting a chance to tear you, or anyone else a new one, it's was not my intent, nor is it in my nature. I hate confrontation, and avoid it at all cost; I however, will, from time to time, point out inconstancies, or mistakes that can lead to misunderstanding; but I do a lot of soul searching, first. Usually I'll let it pass, but in this case, unfortunately, thought I was seeing a pattern, which was disturbing. I assure you, though, I sat a long time in front of the monitor, before hitting the "enter" button.
It seems, bull in a china shop management techniques hardly ever meet with success. :)

Mike, there was no Bull in the china shop management here. I will say it again, the extraneous posts were off topic and therefore clutter. If you want to bs with each other, do it in one of 10,000 posts and threads on this forum. I started this thread looking for a specific response (Dyno results from MVIII dyno day) from a specific person (anyone that had a dyno pull at MVIII with a NA Marauder). Do you see my point? At least give me that one, there should have been reponses from less than 10 guys, if not less because some PM'd me. I wont be rude and say any other responses arent wanted, but really, what good would they do me. Again, I will say im sorry when you dont like something I do, but I rarely apologize for doing it. Its pretty cut and dry. The deleated posts were off track and derailing my thread. Everyone here can report a post or derailing and have it cleaned up, do I deserve less?

The question therefore is: do we all have that same ability? Does a thread starter have the ability to clean up his/her thread or is thread-editing something reserved for only a select few?

If you have a serious thread going and you believe its been derailed, report it and explain why.

Is it safe to say that this thread has been hopelessly run off track? I hope it doesnt cost someone a trophy they earned and deserve. You guys amaze me. it was only a matter of time before everyone became maraudered out and turned on each other for things to write about.

Last call, anyone else that wants to be considered should submit their dyno info soon so I can get the award to the winner and I can be done with this miserable thread and all that goes with it. As of now, here is the top N/A Marauder dynoed at MVIII:

Charles! Here in the Motor City, we are much more tolerant, we believe in giving opportunities to all things great and, uh, small! Just so you know, that is a great doorstop. Try to be openminded and not so quick to judge. Frankly, im dissapointed at your response......so unlike you.

Its funny how things can get taken out of context, especially with a picture like this.
If you knew me a little better, you'd know that I'm very clumsy and have butter fingers. I get very disorentated during the day especially when I know that we're headed to Capers for dinner at night.
What really happened is I simply dropped the blower by accident, and it happened to role up to that door. Some one simply took a pic at the right time and blew the whole thing way out into some thing totally different then the real story ;)
