Were do/are younz placing your jackstands when working on the MM? I know the little arrows along the rocker point to jack placement. This may sound silly but this is my first BOF car in alooooooooooooonnnnnnngggggggg time. I was going to use the outer edge of the axles and not too sure on the K-member or anywehere else up front. Yes I do know to shut off the air susp switch.

Well I don't know if I'm right, but since its a BOF car I just use anywhere along the frame.

I was placing them on the frame about 7 inches in front of the ctrl arms this weekend. If you look at the jack stand there is a label that shows about where to place them I believe.

not a label, its molded into the lower rocker cover, a little inverted triangle.

I know about those. I said that in my first post. Can't place a jack stand if my 3 ton wheeled hydralic jack is there.

Doh, must sleep...

I generally jack the front in the lloted location, placeing the stand further forward where there is an area that comes in for the front A-arm mount. The jack fits there, its a nice meaty area and works well.

For the rear, I either jack a little forward or aft of the triangle allowing myself to place the stand in that general location along the frame.

I have a pair of jack stands that have the shape of the axle tubes. Obviously, they could be used there. As for the front, I figured that they also be used where the shock meets the lower control arm for the same fit.

Are you attempting to jack up the front or rear of the car?
For the rear I normally jack from under the rear diff (taking special care as to not have the jack resting, thus placing weight on, the rear diff cover)
Then after reaching a suitable height I place the jack stands on the factory-indicated frame locations if needing room over the rear suspension, or under the axle tubes if suspension compression will not effect my task.....

For the front I normally jack from the center of the #2 crossmember and then place jackstands in the factory indicated locations. Although I'm sure it is not of concern, i have not had any experience jacking 03+ panthers with the aluminum #2 x-member........

According to our MANUAL....

You are not supposed to jack up the rear of your Marauder from under the axle at all.
I do not think that the axle housing can support the weight of the vehicle
when lifted from under it.

my MANUAL says the same thing, and after speaking with my service manager and a few others; this is printed to discourage people from jacking from the rear diff as if the jack is placed improperly (contacting the rear diff cover) it will bend, then devlop a leak. And if the leak goes unoticed the diff can run out of fluid whenever and create a less-than-pleasurable experience ;)

That said I have jacked my 96' numerous times like this with no ill effects...
And I have jacked up an 03+ (04' CV) twice now in this manner with no ill effect....

If you still don't like this method continue to jack the car in whichever manner you have before or wish too :)
