Had my wife get me a Proguard for Christmas and I just took it out of the cardboard. Is it suppose to come with installation bolts or do I re-use what I got? Nothing else in that cardboard except the ProGuard.

Mine came with a hardware kit but I just used the original bolts and such that were there and it works fine.

The Proguard is a custom cut plastic panel that runs from under the fuel tank to the lip of the rear bumper. It helps the under-car aerodynamics by keeping the air from ballooning into the open rear bumper. It also adds support for the rear bumper to help prevent sagging over time. They run approximately $50 or so. I believe Dennis Reinhart keeps them in stock.

My box lucily still had the bolts and instructions. seems the proguard is stronger than the packaging and the box arrives on your doorstep doa.

Trying to look up the instructions on-line took me longer then just installing the proguard!:D
I reused all my mounting hardware as mine came just in a box...no fasteners or directions. Very simple to figure out.

Mike,
My Proguard came with the mounting hardware. You could use your existing bolts on the bumper, but I think you are going to need the special bolts to mount on the box. The ones they send you are longer.

yep easy mod. ontly thing that slowed me down was the fact there was snow on the ground when I crawled under.

Just go to the hardware store and get 2 carriage bolts that are about 1/4' to 1/2" longer for the box on the gas tank. Your ProGuard should have come with instructions (mine were 2 single-sided pages, labeled 1 of 3 and 3 of 3, was missing page 2). Quite easy to install once you get under the rear your MM.

Supposed to come with a hardware kit... but there wasn't one in mine either. I managed to use what I had Mike... of course.. I admit I was ignorant at the time that there was SUPPOSED to be bolts there.

I also got one of the earlier ones and had to do the dremel and triming on the passenger side to make it fit correctly.
