A number of members have expressed a interest in bringing more order and organization to our group. Alot of good idea's have been posted. I spoke to Chuck ( Tallboy ) this morning on the phone and he came up with a great idea , He stated " We are a large group and might require having a few Regional Directors, North Florida, Orlando, West Coast & South Florida " . I for one really like his idea . What do you guys think of it? We have a Picnic next month and this might be a good time to talk in person and come up with some more idea's to make our group better. Maybe some time after the picnic we can pick a date and a place and have a sit down meeting and go foward with some plans to better or group. Thank You !

Since we've become so large and Florida being such a spread-out state, we could certainly use a little reorganization. With the upcoming picnic just around the corner, I'm sure we can discuss this at more detail and come up with some proposals. So, I agree with this idea.

MAN! we cover all of FL. with 100 members quikly aproaching, I STRONGLY AGREE! Theres alot more that we need to discuss than we think. Lets do it.

Yeah, what's up with that? I put a lot of thought into that post and tried to express my opinions, too. Then, someone goes and has the whole thing deleted. If you don't like what you posted, you can delete/edit your own posts, instead of having everyone else's deleted, too.

You guys need to get on the same page, I was asked to close the thread by the the thread starter, explaining that he had spoken to other SSM members about it, and felt that it was in the best interest of the SSM club to delete the thread. Things got heated in the thread and the group was working to overcome things, and wanted to put it behind them. There is no place here for namecalling, obscenities, and nasty exchanges in that thread. If your club wants to fight, do it someplace else. Out of respect for those asking, I just explained why the thread was nuked. I wont waste my time explaining things the next time.

It is a shame that you cannot make it to the picnic. I know for a fact that a member from Jacksonville is coming down to join us. Any chance on reconsidering?

We in Central Florida have been talking about the same thing.
We apreciate the SSM longevity and hard work, and feel "Chapters" could have a 'page' on "SSM" to keep all our peeps up to date and allow folks from all over see what we're up to and join in if able or in the area that day(s).
We just had a daylong cruise. Recently had an outing to Arabian Nights (1/2 off admission) but couldn't get the word out thru MM.net because no one ever got back to our guy with the tickets and the annoucement.
We will be heading to Alafia Rondezvous (near Bartow) see;Living History @
www.floridafrontiersmen.org (http://www.floridafrontiersmen.org) this weekend and to Cypress Gardens later this year (discounted tickets again)- we want everyone in Florida, who can, join us. Cypress Gardens wants us there, with special parking, group discount, etc.
We have a few computer savvy folks who could keep "our" page updated weekly. Adding to an already good thing will hopefully make it better. What the 'founding fathers' of SSM have done is fantastic. We'd like to help.
Several of us are trying to be at the picnic but 'voting' isn't needed - expanding the SSM website and keeping it up to date is an improvement that will help SSM grow and be the most active and fun group of MM lovers in any state.

I'm glad this thread was deleted, it was going in the wrong direction and making us look bad. One thing we (SSM) have allways maintained on being like family and all get along great with each other. In regard to the "ReOrganization" of SSM lets get on with that. We can get things started at the picnic. We all have alot of good ideas and looking foward. South FL has a meet the 3rd weekend of the month, we in CFL got the 2nd weekend covered, now we have the 1st and 4th weekend im sure the west coast or north side can cover not forgeting the east side. So we can have a meet every weekend of the month at different locations in FL. We also have some computer savvy members who can work on updating the SSM website weekly/monthly on current events. Good idea, looking foward.
