View Full Version : Attention - West Coast SSM Members
MarauderTJA
01-18-2006, 06:17 PM
I would like to inquire if most or all of the west coast members could meet at the Bradenton Motorsports Park on FEBRUARY 4TH at 10 AM.
We all could have some fun drag racing with the cooler weather and afterwards plan to go to a local restaurant for a luncheon to discuss some ideas to present to the SSM membership at the annual picnic on February 19th.
I would ask that all of you, whether you can attend the Bradenton day or not, to please write down your questions, concerns and/or any ideas that you may have. This would better prepare our west coast regional response to the other SSM regions at the picnic. Please let me know who can attend so I can make up a list. Any ideas on a local restaurant is additionally welcomed so I can contact them in advance. Thanks.

Tom,
Can't commit just yet. Am in Dallas until Saturday. I will pipe in definatively this weekend. Sounds like great fun. I want to test my torque convertor override in back-to-back runs and see what gains are there. Could be beneficial on a car with twenty-percent or more horses as well.
Come on everybody, let's roll!

Jim, listen to me. Bradenton is way south of Ocala. Do your thing first with us, then just VISIT her sisters for a BRIEF time mentioning you really need to get back home because of snow bird traffic. It can get real heavy with accidents etc.(its the season here) Stop at South of the Border for awhile and let her have fun. My wife loved it there. She buys a couple of things, the trunk stays lite and everyone wins.

Not only am I hearing voices, now I have thirteen year old engineers telling me to buy a supercharger! Alex, thanks for the advice, but it's my daily work car. I have to go easy on it. I think I'll just get my wife a Marauder to replace the Grand Ma(rquis). I won't have to worry about her beating it up or putting too many miles on it. I hope she likes Dark Toreador Red!

That was my thought process too, "Buy the Marauder for the wife"!
But I want to drive it!
So I hatched an evil plan...
"Honeybuns, you know how you've always wanted a Mustang convertible?"
The plan worked! Now all I have to do is convince her she'd rather have a 5spd...

That's a good location for Dave and Alex as they'll be coming down the Bayside Bridge. That's okay for me as well. Seems we have a couple more Pinellas Marauders that need to chime in here, too. I smell PM's in their future . . . (That means you Ga. Marauder and Bradical.). It is such good, clean, cheap fun. Wives* and kids will enjoy it also. Plus, I'll have the dubious distinction of having THE slowest car on the track. It just kills me Dennis can't make it with his newly re-tooled car. Darn-it! I realize I'm the "Morning Person From Hades" but would 8o'clock be too early? Come on everybody,

The back has Marauder Race Team and the front right side has Supercharged Marauder and the left side has my company instructor badge logo with our tactical training .com website.
Anyone interested let me know your size. They cost me $10.00 each and will cost you the same. Let me know and I will bring them with me.

Brad,
we are tentatively planning to meet in Clearwater/St. Pete area(Ulmerton Rd & 34th) at 8 AM Sat morning, there is a McDonald's across from the Chic-Fila and next to the Rally gas station...you're welcome to join us and cruise down. Hoping to firm it up tomorrow with whoever else is going...little rain doesn't bother me, but it it looks like a washout, probably will pass.

The following gibberish is directly from the National Weather Service office in Ruskin. They are the kings of acronyms. This is looking more favorable than it has in days.
NEXT CONCERN WILL BE LATER IN THE DAY FRI AS FRONTAL BNDY WILL
STILL BE JUST NORTH OF THE AREA AND WILL BEGIN TO GET A KICK FROM
FALLING HEIGHTS AHEAD OF THE MAIN UPPER TROUGH ROTATING DOWN FROM
THE GREAT PLAINS. THIS TIME AROUND...MOISTURE WILL BE PLENTIFUL AS
SRLY FLOW WILL HAVE BEEN ONGOING FOR ROUGHLY 36 HRS. DEWPOINTS IN
THE MID TO UPPER 60S WILL MEAN THE CHANCE FOR SOME STRONG TO
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS TO FORM AHEAD OF THE BNDY AND SPC HAS PLACED
SRQ NORTH IN SLIGHT RISK THRU 12Z SAT AND THEN SRQ SOUTH AFT 12Z
SAT. HAVE BUMPED UP POPS AND TSTM CHANCES TO BETTER MATCH
CONDIFENCE THAT MODELS HAVE IN RAINY SCENARIO.
STRONG COLD FRONT BEHIND ALL OF THESE FEATURES WILL MOVE THRU THE
NRN AND CENTRAL AREAS BY SAT MORNING AND THEN THRU THE CWA BY MID
SAT AFTN. HAVE ADJUSTED TEMP/DEWPOINT AND SKY FORECAST TO MATCH
TIMING OF FRONT...WITH MAX 12 HR TEMPS OCCURRING IN THE MORNING
SAT CENTRAL AND NORTH AND EARLY AFTN SOUTH.
The bad news is we won't see the cool air until later in the day. I still bet Marauder TJA gets into the 11's. I think that alone is worth going to see! By the way, the "CWA" above includes SW Florida counties. That indicates it may still be raining down south (Lee, Collier) in the morning when it's time to trek to the track.
