:D ok, since I have realized that I'll not be finding reasonable tires with any good traction for this car at the 19" size anytime soon, I've been on the prowl for 18x9.5. So if anyone has pics of a car with rims like the one below, please do share, pretty please :D :bows: http://www.westcohost.com/rwimg/i.php?pid=wadr-pkg-mclassic
P.S they'd be in chrome if I got em

I don't think these are the same but I do believe they are similar.

Watch the offset on those. I have looked at ADR wheels and the highest I have found was +38. Take a look at the Falken Koblenz. The come in the Tire Rack recommended offset of +45 and you can get a 19 X 9.5 if you like. I am looking at these in an 18 x 9 all around with +45 offset.

offset is 35 for the 18x9.5 and 40 for the 8.5 (front) With 35 offset on 9.5 I'll loose minimal space inside and move outwards a little over an inch

Moving outward over an inch would make it look like a 4WHD wouldn't it?

Nother thought is buy the 8.5s and have them widened....
I know of a good shop that can do it ! :D

an inch from the lip of where the rim is now? neg it's not gonna stick out like that, I doubt it'd push past the fender at the top, I'll measure tomorrow

Backs can take that move outward. Fronts can't. See thread about ROH drifters. There's pics.

A.J....What about your big brake kit? Isn't clearance the reason VT went with 19" wheels to begin with?

They fit inside my oem wheels, so no worries with that :D

interesting indeed about the frontsI'll def need to look into it. good lookin out on that.
*edit* SO... I went to tire rack who in theory know what's goin on, they sell fronts for our cars 18x8.5 +45mm... an extention of 11mm...
so then there are the rims I was looking at at first... 18x8.5 +40mm 16mm extention... 5mm difference, seeing as 25.some mm in an inch that would make it a less than 1/4 inch difference, so I guess I'll keep looking at these until I can find 9.5 for the rear that won't cost a fortune.
but back to the topic at hand, any more pics out there?? :)

one more thing: I gather from the posts in that other thread that the car is sitting on the rims on wooden blocks? wouldn't that cause more travel than would be had if tires were on the rims? hence arms closer to paralell to the ground... just a thing that went through my mind as I read.

Isn't that one-lap Ford a pre 2003 chassis (different front wheel offset)?

it's an 03, I think the BBS might be +45 offset beats me, not sure the detail, article wasn't that specific about wheels

Sorry to barge into this thread, but I have a 2003 Crown Vic, and had some questions about Marauder rims. Discount Tire sells a set of Enkei's I would like. I can only find them when I enter Marauder info, not Crown Vic...

Will these work on my Crown Vic? I thought I have he same suspension as the Marauder.

If your offset is the same as ours sure, I personally wouldn't run 9" at 38mm offset on the front. Might work, or maybe they make a 8" you can use on the front :D

When on the rack, it appeared our A-arms are relatively parallel to the ground when sitting normally. Upon jacking the A-arms sag down. That means that upon jacking the center actually moves IN a tiny amount. Given the length of our A-arms and amount of travel, this is negligible (1-2 mm?) as far as rim and tire fitment are concerned.
Start checking applications for cars like porsche carreras, corvette, etc. High offset deep wheels. Also check Colorado customs and/or other mfg's that offer custom offsets. I could not find rims for our cars with the high offsets and any appreciable width for the price I wanted to pay. Of course, if money is no object.......
My suggestion is buy the high offset rim you need that fits to the outward limit (positive), then have it widened to the inward (negative) limit.
It appears that you know that offset changes with width, so you have to do the math every time to see where the outside edge will fall.
Another suggestion is to look up the potential tire. Get the tread width and section width as well as the narrowest acceptable rim. This will help since you can now figure where the SIDEWALL will come to compared to stock as well as possibly getting away with a narrower rim. Sidewall flex given up by narrower rim can be helped with air pressure adjustments (for street, track of course is a different story).
Check my sig. I am very happy with the road hodling, on/off-ramp seat of the pants feel with my combo, although it may not at all be suitable for track.

Travel is controlled by the shock. The bump stops are inside the shock. The stops are rubber. So, they will compress depending on how much load is on them. So, it doesn't matter whether the tires are on or not for suspension travel. All that matters is where the jack is and whether weight has been added to the vehicle (to compress the stops more). You would want the tire on the wheel to check for tire clearance obviously. Also, make sure there is still some clearance between the wheel and tire and everything else because bushings and so forth will bend some more under real loads.
You can google "billet wheels" to find companies that offer custom offsets. There are about a billion companies that do. You'll likely end up with a 2 or 3 piece wheel. They are pricey as mentioned. You could also get a wheel the sticks inboard too much and add a wheel spacer to move it back out. I don't like wheel spacers and advise against them.

Many thanks for the info, my situation is a little sticky. I am trying to avoid widening, I would really rather not with the kind of luck I've been having.
Now as for my rim size, I have the stocks and 19x9s right now, on the 19x9s are toyo 255/40 - 19s... I don't get enough traction, I have alot of power. I'm stroked and bored, now at 5.1L and I have 14 psi of boost. I need alot bigger than 255 :( .
I found some TSWs that I might get instead with good front offset. Had my heart set on that other wheel design though.... BBS makes the right offset... too bad they are $800-$1000 each

No. You have a different offset and back side setting. You'll need spacers. Not wise with our weight.

Check Konig's website. Some of their rims for drifter style cars may interest you at resonable prices through... oops can't mention here.
