For this of yo running headers are you running 2 cats, 4 cats or none? I am getting ready to order a set of Kooks long tubes and havtn figured out what I am gonna do as far as cats go. I wont be able to get my chip reflashed right away so if I go with two high flows I know the SEL light will be on but it shouldnt cause a prob should it? Is there any way I can get away without having to have my chip reflashed??

Run the cats that come with the Kooks kit. I did not have a "sel" light after the install.
You may want to have your chip reflashed or have a dyno tune to get the most out of the exhaust set up.

I installed the Kook's system with TWO high-flow Cats and an X-Pipe with Magnaflows.
To avoid the dreaded 'MIL', I plugged in a pair of MIL eliminators between the OEM wiring and the rear set of 02 Sensors.
I bought the MIL eliminators from Dallas Mustang for @ $58.00/pair.
I've never seen a Malfunction Indicator Light from my exhaust mods.
P.S. I'm not sure what you are referencing as a 'SEL' light...

service engne soon light. I already have an x pipe on the car, Defyant I didnt know the kooks kit came with cats or are they an extra cost thing. I thought about getting a set of magnaflow high flows. I want to hear yours some time so I know what I have to look forward to. What mufflers are you running on your car?

If you get the Kooks with the ceramic coating they should put enough heat down stream to light off the cats and avoid throwing a code. It will also keep the engine bay cooler. However, it is not cheap, hence I opted for the DR Cobra Exhaust.

You won't get a CEL because we only run one pair of O2 sensors.
In those vehicles with 2 pairs, they are set before and after the cats.
In THAT case, you would get a CEL.
You will still need to run O2 sensors, or replace them
with Wide Band O2 sensors and a corresponding tune.

I can do that. If it must be a weekday, lunch would have to be around 11 since I am at work by 2pm. Or the CAM meet is coming up soon.

Does the X-pipe you currently have installed connect to the flanges at the outlet of the OEM cats?
The cats and x-pile assembly for the kooks kit costs extra.
I have a pair of cats which are flanged to connect between the kooks collectors and the exact location of the OEM cat outlet flanges. I'll let them go for a good deal, they are 2-1/2" polished stainless steel Magnaflow high flow cats. I upgraded to 3" cats.
Most performance tuners turn off the rear cats so the CEL should not come on even without the MIL eliminators.

No it doesnt cause it was fabricated by hand, it connects a little before the cats via clamp. Send me some pics of what you have.

The header flanges came from Kooks, the cats are Magnaflow, they have rear O2 sensor bungs, and the 2-bolt flanges in the rear align perfectly with the OEM H-pipe. Everything is 2-1/2" and they are in excellent condition.
Here they are:

Has anyone from Maryland had any problems with going through the emissions tests with the superchargers and aftermarket exhausts?

Not callin' you out, MIB, but I'm not sure what you're trying to say here.
My '03 has four O2 sensors, two in front of all the cats, and another pair between the two sets of cats.
AFAIK, every OBD2 or later system has to have the additional post-cat O2 sensors to be able to rat out the cats if
they fail. And you still need the pre-cat O2 sensors to control fuel trims. Not sure why the MM gets away with putting
the second pair of O2 sensors between the first and second cats, as most systems have 'em after all the cats. But
that's the only unusual thing about the MM's O2 sensors, otherwise they follow standard OBD2 practice.
Or are you saying you're running an aftermarket exhaust system that only has the pre-cat sensors, and MIL eliminators
in place of the second O2 sensors?
