Yeah, break somthing you want replaced. Blame it on Ford's poor
manufacturing. Anyone will believe that.

Picked mine up last Thu evening and so far have found the following:
warranty:
rear diff gears, pinion, and bearings replaced for noise
driver window switch replaced because it wasnt lighting up fully
TSB performed on steering wheel for leather coming loose
transmission pan resealed for seepage
reseated front springs and aligned for clunking noise
still trying to find source of an intermittent squeaking noise after engine is warmed up (sounds like a belt/pulley) but can't get the noise to happen when my tech is looking at it!
I paid:
spare 3rd key and remote
spoiler ordered
I still have 2,500 miles to find stuff that Ford can pay for! After that it will be on a Premiumcare contract which I guess you can say Ford will still be paying for but with a deductible. My advice to you is to just give it a good thorough looking over, its the little things that will bug the heck out of you if you let the warranty expire.

Thanks for that answer... I'm at 33,5xx now and you're giving me good advice!

I keep a pad in the car and note anything that I find wrong. This way I don't have to try and remember it! Might want the dealership to check for any TSB's (which are listed here in previous posts).

I recommend having the dealer inspect the rear break shoes. They have to take the rotors off to do this which can be a problem. I had both rear rotors replaced under warranty when the could not get the old ones off without destroying them. You may have to pay for the inspection but its worth it IMHO.

Not too much showing up here, but I'd check the list against what you have. I've had very few problems I can blame on Ford, and I drove out the backside of my 100K warranty quite a while ago now.

Waranty items on the 03 black: 20K miles and never seen a day of rain.
left window switch (LEDs out for LF)
reprogram PCM for flat spot per TSB
new axles, both sides.
Vibration from Driveline (had them pull it and put in a 1999 CV police MMX shaft before Ford sold out the NOS ones).
Steering wheel leather
Outside temp reading incorrect (reprogram climate control module).
Scratched left outter dash trim (day I bought it).
Right front window quit (lubbed/adjusted)
Warranty items on 03 Blue. 22K miles
New rear axles/rotors per TSB.
Left window switch (LEDs out for LF)
Adjustable pedal assembly inoperative (replaced 2 times)
Right front window quit full up(lubbed/adjusted)
Left front window quit full down (replaced regulator assembly)
By the way that intermittent squeak in the engine is very likely the belt tensioner. It will "test" out Ok from the dealer, but it you replace it (and the belt) the noise will go away. Just had to do that on the wifes' 03 MM at 65K miles (add together the warranty items from the blue and the other black for this car). Had it looked at under warranty a few times, but "could not repeat condition" was the result. Finally used a stethescope and found the noise in the tensioner. A drop of oil stopped it for a few days, but I decided to replace it and the belt in case the incorrect tension damaged the belt. Ended up with a higher idle voltmeter reading as the result.
