The nut that holds the pulley on the blower snout is rusted, has anyone changed this nut to either chrome or stainless steel, how about an acorn nut??? I thought it would look good, not sure if it would cause a problem or void the warranty. Thanks.

I'd go with a stainless one. I can't imagine changing the nut would void the warranty as long as you can torque it to the same specs....
Hit it with touch up paint

I think an acorn type nut where you don't see the end of the shaft would look cool, has anyone used one or know a reason why you should not???

I guess I'm the only one with a rusted nut...
The afore mentioned nut has a dab of paint against the shaft, can someone from Trilogy explain the purpose of that marker?????

O.K. Guys,
I don't want anyone out there going around with rusted nuts. It just wouldn't look right in public, if you know what I mean! This topic has been one of my small to-do's for some time. I spoke to a couple of vendors months ago about making a stainless or zinc coated nut the would cover the shaft and would not rust. The topic has fallen to the bottom of the list, but I agree with everyone that it should be rust free.
My recommendation, don't do anything yet! When I get this resolved I will send ALL of our customers the new nut, at no charge. Please be patient with me and I will get it addressed. I have been complaining about this for a year and it's my problem to solve.
Thanks
Jerry

Jerry,
Now if you could only find a fix for the loose nut behind Javier's steering wheel......

Jerry, I am not the least bit surprised by your prompt response, I would not have mind changing it myself, I wanted to be certain that changing to an acorn style nut would not cause a problem or void the warranty, will wait, if you like you can just hand it to me when you come down to Florida.:D
If there is a specific torque spec for that nut let me know. Thank you and really look forward to seeing you again. Javier.

What about a nice billet anodized cap for the pulley to cover the nut?

Yes, the nut that I have envisioned would be an acorn type that would cover the entire end of the screw. I have talk to Doug at American Tool about a couple of designs, one bullet shaped, one with a Trilogy logo, etc.
I think I am going to drive over there right now and talk to him again!
See Ya!

The rusty nut has always bothered me. A polished / stainless nut is a great idea. The fact that Jerry is going to send everyone a new nut only proves what i have known since i installed my kit over 2 yearsago. Trilogy Motorsports is a first class organization.

So I get this call from Chuck this morning, before I even had my breakfast, telling me that not only is his nut rusty, but he wants a shiny S/C pulley! Like he saw on our display unit at PRI. I told him the diamond studded pulley was in development and would be available Sach's Fifth Avenue by Christmas 2006. Please send your latest ideas for underhood bling to : The Wizard or Mr. Kool Aid!
Sincerely,
Your Humble S/C Merchant!

Jerry, Don't know this for a fact but Paula (Hi Mom) told me that she had heard that both of Chucks' nuts were rusty and she wasn't to sure about his pistol. Just for your private info. Sounds like he could really use a shiny pulley. Dennis:beer:
