The past week or so I have been hearing a "rubbing" or some other kind of funny sound from the drive train. Couldn't pinpoint it, so I took it in to a good shop and they pulled apart the rear axle and gear. The axle was wearing pretty noticeably, and they said it needed to be changed pretty soon. They saw some wear on the 3.55's, although not that much.
I told them to contact Allstate to see if it would be taken care of by my extended warranty. If it was, then I wanted them to put in 4.10's to replace the 3.55's.
Just got word back that the warranty inspector said that they would cover everything but the gears. Since the gears were out anyway, and that part of the labor was already done, I said what the heck, I'll pay for the gears since everything else is being covered by the warranty.
Now I need a tune for the new gears. Called DR, but it's already past closing time out in Florida. Left him a message to call me so I can order a tuner with his tune on it. The gears should be done by Monday afternoon. Hopefully by early next week the tuner will arrive and I can install the program.
Now this sounds crazy:
I have only read about 999 threads where people are getting 4.10's, but I guess the excitement of getting them for myself has made me forget a lot of good advice. Anything special I need to know once I get back my new beast?
