Hotel Room / SSM Picnic

I just wanted to throw out an idea to anyone who will be traveling down to attend the picnic. I know that it is a long drive for most of you who will be attending the picnic. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in staying at a local hotel here in the Ft Lauderdale area and come down the night b4 the picnic so that way you all dont have to do all that driving in one day. On Friday, Feb. 17th we will be having our Monthly meet at the Tower Shops. If your schedules permit, you can come down for the weekend and join us on Friday at the Tower Shops for the meet, then the picnic on Sunday the 19th. I will make some phone calls to local hotels and get some rates if anyone is interested. I just want to try to make it as easy as possible on you and your families. I know its tough to drive 3+ hours, stay at the picnic then drive another 3+ hours home....If anyone is interested please post your thoughts here or send me a PM and Ill get started making the phone calls......You can also share a room with several others and split the cost evenly.



So is there anyone who would like to come down the day b4 or 2 days b4 and attend the monthly meet?:D ( you can make it a little small weekend getaway)

Ghost, sounds like a good idea. I thought perhaps come down Sun. AM and stay over to drive back on Monday but may make it a longer stay. Still thinking. Thanks for the offer. Will let you know. Thanks. Dennis:)

I have spent the last several hours looking for hotel room reservations and almost all the hotels are booked solid for the dates around the picnic. Ill try a few more later on....Any preferences on a hotel?
