When do you guys think is a good time to take off the snow tires? I forget from year to year when most of the snow stops accumulating around these parts...

Although we have had a mild winter, we usually wait until about June here in Buffalo, NY....

Seriously, You never know when you'll need them, just keep wathching long term weather forcasts.

I took mine off in mid March last year.

The way things are going this year, I am not sure why I put them on to begin with.

Looking for winter, look no further. We had nothing to date , but it's been blizzard conditions since midnight and there is over 30 cm ( 12 in) on the ground with 60-80km ( 35- 50 mph) winds and it's not over yet.

Everything is closed, including the shopping malls. What they call a " Nor-Easter "

Looks like my new little FWD Ranger is going to come in handy. Then again the weather guy says 10 C ( 50 F ) and rain by Saturday.

Florida in April can't come soon enough.

If you take them off now, you'll get caught with your pants down. I hear mid february there will be some changes in the weather...cold ones.

That's what I heard as well. And it looks like it will start in WI / IL and move South-East. That means trouble for all us cities South and east of the Great Lakes. Pump 'em up to 40 PSI's Boys...

Much too soon, IMHO. Midwest winters can be fickle, I'm not thinking about it until after March 1st.

I think I will be waiting until the end of March. We always seem to get that last, 5-6 inch snow storm sometime in March (even early April a year or 2 ago). Usually gone on the roads the next day, but with my daily commute, I think I would rather be safe than sorry.

But I can't wait to get the stockers out of the basement closest and back on the car!!!!

well, glad to see my fellow midwesterners chiming in. I put a set of Pirelli Scorpions on 16" Mustang alloy wheels immediately after our first snow and damned if it hasn't snowed since. I agree with the sentiment that as soon as I switch back to the MM wheels/tires I am practically guaranteeing a blizzard for the greater midwest. I'm sick of looking at the puny Mustang wheels and the absolute worst of it is that my favorite downtown Chi town restaurant valets failed to give the MM it's rightful spot in front last week without the OEM wheels on. OHHHH the insult and agony!

In WNY I usually wait till beginning of April. Its been very mild this year (3 inchs all Jan). Who know I might even switch em at the beginning of March if this weather keeps up.

I second this.
We've only had about 4" of snow since December.
Usually by now its been a few feet...

If the weather for Feb looks mild, I'm putting my wheels back on in 2 weeks.

All I can say is I miss my MM wheels! Its been 40c all Winter (knock on

wood) and almost no snow. It feels like Im driving a P71, just don't get the

same "what the hell is that bad ass car" look while the Police wheels are

on. C'mon APRIL !

I usually wait until mid April or the end of March if the long-term forecast shows it is safe. We've had some bad snowstorms in April many times.

My wife is from Grand Island. We go up all the time to visit her family. We should meet up in the summer...check out your MM. Watch that lake effect snow though...winters not over yet!

The Pirelli's come off April 15 - seen those 12 inch snowfalls even here in the Super Bowl city in April, I agree with Sergeant Mac, the Midwest weather is fickle.
