I Took the MM in for new tires today.
Out the door with four new gForce KDWS's, speed balanced, road hazard and balancing warranties, taxes, and polished wheels for $594.60.
Went to a local Tire Shop (Goodyear's Just Tires chain) for new treads.
I stood by while the Tire shop person was preparing to set the lift for the car. I had him alter the lift positions twice. He was going to lift the car in the rear using the shock mount lower connections! I pointed out the rear lift pad location. In the front, he was going to use the lower A frames bottoms as the point of lift! I pointed out to him that on a Marauder, these were an alumimum alloy part and not suitable for lifting the car! He then found suitable lift points for the front too.
The tire work part was fine with no additional scratches on the rims and they used a torque wrench to check lug nut tightness. All tires were speed balanced with little weight being applied.
At the dealership the day before...
Also installed were Dennis's rear proguard piece, the window air and rain deflectors, and part of the CVPI gas tank shields.
There are in fact three part numbers for the complete CVPI gas tank impact shield set and I guess that only one of these was ordered by the parts department. I will have to get the other two parts of the gas tank shield items installed with my next service appointment.
The front and transmission skid pads will be in by then too and I will have all of these installed at the next service interval.
Best Regards,
Dave
