View Full Version : Rear ride height adjustment

OK, I tried to find it in a search and found some references to it, but not any DIY write up or anything I was kind of hoping for. I want to drop the rear ride height of my car. I know that it is done by adjusting the sensor for the airbags or something like that.

Now, the sensor is on or around the Watts link, right? And what is the best way to adjust it? Car on or off? Sitting on ground, on ramps, or on jack stands? Air suspension switch on or off?

Could someone (or anyone) that has done this succesfully do a little instructional write up on the procedure or post a link to a thread that already has it that I didn't come up with on the searches I was doing?

Thanks.

Try this thread:

When I did it, I used a couple small metric sockets on the watts link and slid it towards the drivers side to lower it.

Cheers!

Thanks. I did end up finding that thread and a couple others. Just trying to figure out the best way to do the adjustment. It makes sense to do it with the car sitting on the tires, but I don't know if I can get under there to do the adjustment that way. It would be nice to have access to a drive on lift to do the adjustment.

Actually, a friend just started working as a mechanic at a new Chevy dealer. Maybe he can get it on the alignment rack or something so we can adjust it.
