Well.....I took the plunge and put the same size Nittos up front (255/45ZR18) that are out back and wouldn't ya know it...THE TC GOES INTO "LIMP" MODE AT ABOUT 50 mph!!!!:argue:

Mac had said his TC activates on his 04 at about 50 with the same size tires all around.....But I tought it would be flashing lights....whistles....bells or something elsa??

Until we figure out how to defeat it I'll just be turning that sucker off with the dash switch!!

Boy the bigger tires up front really look nice!!

Hey Mac....

I don't like the bright amber light they use when the TC is "OFF" sooooo....I'm going to try and disassemble the swithch and paint the bulb to tone it down some??

I'll let ya know what happens!!

I hope Zack or someone else can figure out how to make the TC remain off until needed??

jack, you ALMOST had it right...you need to put the picture's actual URL, not the gallery link, in between the IMG /IMG tags...

Right click on the picture, then click "Properties" and it will show you the correct path to use...

Please orient this picture for me. Is the filter outboard of the frame?

Yes rayjay....

Outboard just behind the left hand foglamp.....You see the wire in the foreground. It required 48" hoses as I ran them over the frame and behind the ABS unit...then under the air filter and through a hole just behind the headlight. From there they screw right into the adaptor with none left over!!

I would have preferred to mount it inside the frame behind the radiator but all of my blower stuff is in the way!!:argue:

I'll post this in the thread I started about the remote along with pix!!:D

This is a wacky idea, but could you paint the button with a coat or two of Nighshade paint that is used on the tail lamps?

ckadiddle.....

You can simply pop the rocker part of the switch out with a small screw driver or pocket knife.....insert just left or right of center and pry up if on top of rocker or down if under it...It will pop right out revealing two very small but BRIGHT LED's!!!

I simply inserted various light filtering materials in the "OFF" side of the rocker and reinstalled (just press it back in) and check to see how bright it is??;) I ended up with a piece of red vinyl pressed in it and it blocks about 75% of the light and toned it down to a dull red instead of a BRIGHT YELLOW....which was very distracting but I guess it is by design!!!:argue:

Now all I do is start the car and drive off forgetting to turn the TC "OFF" and at 50 MPH it reminds me of my error as the instrument cluster warning begins flashing and the car just won't go any faster.....depressing the accelerator just "BOGS" it down!!!:argue: :mad2: This may just be a GREAT theft deterrant since the car just won't go above 50 MPH!!! :bows:
