Just dropped the MM at the dealer. It goes clicky - clicky - clicky when I try to start it, had to jump start it. Battery is just a few months old.:(

Upgrade to an Optima Yellow Top. I've heard nothing but good things.

Not a bad idea, but a battery is worthless if the MM doesn't keep it charged.

Not to hijack your thread, but, damn, that's a fine looking car, and a great photo! :bows:

Mike,
I would never consider it a hijack,...when there is a compliment involved. Thanks. Photo was taken at my cousin's place up in Peshtigo, WI.

UPDATE:
Apparently the new battery that I bought from a Ford dealer in early November was bad. My local LM replaced the battery with a new one, and did an electrical checkout and test. Service writer was going to charge me $25.00 for the test, replacement battery was free (under warrenty). As they performed the test, I was sitting in and talking to the service manager. When they told me my car was ready the manager walked out with me to the cashier. As the cashier told me of the $25.00 charge for the testing, the manager corrected her and said.....no charge this is a warrenty issue. :)

The Motorcarft batteries aren't the best. Numerous members of this site including myself have had the battery changed under warranty.
Like most electrical parts they are made in Mexico.

Well,....basically a year from the last incident my MM doesn't even go
clicky - clicky - clicky, everything was DEAD when I tried to start the MM this morning. Had to jump start it with the SUPERDUTY. Even had to wait for the protection circuit to re-activate to get power into the internals. Will take it in to the dealer next week. Had it hibernating in the garage for the last week, not wanting to take it out in the snow. KDW2s definitely don't like the snow.

Finally jump started and dropped the MM off at the dealer last night. Today they had two separate technicians check the electrical system out on the MM, and neither of them found any problems with the MM. They did their in-depth battery test, and the battery came up bad again. They replace the battery and handed me back the keys this afternoon,...under warrentee still.

I think some people just might have gotten a bad run. I have always had good luck with Motorcraft Batteries. In any case the service with them is pretty good. Most of the Batteries carry free towing under the 24 month free replacement. Generally in Texas, with the 100+ degree days, 3 years is about all one can expect out of a battery.
For replacements, I usually buy Energizer, who is made by JCI. They carry the same warranty (as well as towing beleive it or not)and cost about 2/3 of what the Motorcraft does. I've bought over 100 of these in use for the business, these are people that do extensive idling, use lots of power equipment and I have not had a problem or complaint yet.
For the record, Motorcraft Batteries are manufactured by Johnson Controls,
who also happens to manufacture batteries for Sears' DieHard, Auto Zone's Duralast, Wal-Mart's EverStart, Optima, Delphi, Interstate Green Top, Interstate Mega Tron, Mega Tron Plus (Black Top), Bosch, Delco Freedom, etc etc.
Just my 2 volts.

AGAIN???? Why jump it? Let them send a rollback and give her a piggy back ride to the dealer!

Does Johnson Controls also make AAA batteries? I had AAA replace mine in the driveway when it died about a year ago. Looks like most other car batteries, but has AAA auto club labelling on it.
