DTR Marauder w/ 365 HP Anyone here?

Saw this on ebay, from the picture on the track I figured it had

to be someone here. Says 365HP, but no mention of mods. Looks

extra sharp, always loved DTR :)

Well '03's do...the manual picture shows it as a 2003 model year. I thought all DTR's were '04s?? Plus, the ad states it's an '04 but the manuals say 2003 Mercury Marauder.

It is a nice ad, and a nice looking car, but I still want to know why it's 365hp and why it's an '03 listed as an '04. And, am I wrong about DTR's being '04 only or was that just blues being '03 only?

No moonroof on his car & it has a front plate holder.

Another pic in the auction shows what appears to be a moonroof car, with the roof open in the "venting" position. This car also lacks a front plate holder.

Literature pic - shows 03 stuff.

Engine pic - most likely from an 03 - based upon the black cam covers.

365 HP ? from a tune alone ? ............. NOT.

About the only thing I can say for certain here is, ebay user "thetoolcrib" ..... does in fact appear to be a "tool" of sorts. :rolleyes:

Do you think that he was thinking that the OEM HP rating was 302 RWHP and so he is trying to say that the engine is 365 FWHP (fly wheel horse power)? I remember when I was dynoed at 302 RWHP they said I was around 365-375 FWHP. Just a thought. That is definately a ripped of picture of Edieeeeees car. You can have that auction ceased if you complain.

I also ran VIN and am puzzled. Says registered or renewed in Connecticut on 10/03, 7/05, 9/05. Why twice 2005? And nothing for details on Title, Problems, Odometer, Vehicle Information, Full History.

Thanks for all the concern guys. As RoylPita stated, the Oasis came back clean. Another MM.net member is running a carfax for me. I would never buy a car without checking it out personally, so I will fly up to CT if I am the highest bidder. I have also sent the seller a list of questions (last night), have not received a response. He's not getting a penny of my hard earned money until everything checks out. Thanks again for your responses, it's like a bunch of brothers watchin' each other's backs!
P.S. i had my shot for fasteddieee's car, but he beat me to it, right Ed?:D

I have had the chance to view a couple Ford products on a lift that came from New Orleans. The tell-tale was the stainless steel exhaust was horribly rusted. Especially towards the front of the vehicle where it couldn't be masked by a paint-over due to the extreme temperature. It was still solid but had tremendous surface rust. Take a look at it closely. I've never seen a stainless system that corroded by road-salt. Another trick is to pop the back seat bottom out to look for signs of water intrusion. They rarely clean under the back seat and it takes just a moment to pop out and in.
