Well, I finally got around to scanning in my dyno sheet. I had Scott Beer perform his tuning magic upon my car, after several sessions we have what I feel is still a conservative tune, that makes good power. As evidenced by my 12.17 run the other night (which was a follow up to my 12.3 run 15 minutes before).

So finals show 425rwhp, and 405rwtq, thats with a 7% load on the dyno. I wish we had the mph graphed, I think we were running close to 125mph at 6k rpm... them tall gears :)

Now one thing I did run into at the track, was I felt the 2-3 WOT upshift was a little drawn out, so I whipped out the Predator tuner between runs, went into custom tune, WOT 2-3 shift pressure, and bumped it up to 80psi. Next run, it shifted perfectly.

I point all this out because I want anyone who's considering a tune or tuner to really consider the Predator/Diablo products. Its so powerful and makes it a snap to adjust your tune/setup for real world conditions.

Way to go! Everytime I read one of these type stories I feel my pockets burning and a little voice whispering "...mods..." in my head.

Let this be a lesson to everyone.

It's not about having the most horses.

It's about having the faster horses.:)

Marc, those are great number for that power level, I think. Great driving job. Thanks for the info. Dennis:)

From what the graph shows, the A/F mixture seems a bit too lean, shouldn't it be closer to the 12.5 - 13.0 to be on the safe side ?

The higher the number the leaner it gets..... air divided by fuel = a/f ratio. More air, bigger number, more fuel smaller number.

The tuners know more than I do about all this, I have a general knowledge and understanding of things. The leaner you go the more power you can make, but it runs hotter and you go too lean bad things happen. Adding more fuel will fatten up the torque curve in the midrange, but its all a game of balancing things out.

you'd really need to ask an expert like Scott to get a true explenation.

Dennis,

thanks, but the car, Trilogy, and Scott Beer should get as much if not all the credit. I just managed to be the monkey hanging on to the wheel and mashing the go button.

The point should also be that big dyno numbers do not make a fast car. DYno are a great tool for tuning a car, nothing more. I've only had experience with a few different dynos, and to be honest, they are only as good as the people who run them or maintain them.
