The install is easy. The only problem I had was putting the rubber elbow on the intake pipe quite a tight fit.

Install is about 15 - 20 minutes. As stated previously getting the rubber elbow on the intake is the only hard part. I've had a JLT o my car for over a year and 20,000+ miles with no problems. You'll like it.... if only for the sound!!

I like mine too. Install was easy, except for the tight fit noted above. Use a small amount of soapy water on the surfaces to help get it on there. I am waiting for spring to take mine back off to clean it up after the winter driving and clean the filter.

I just noted on the JLT website that the Intake may rub the hood liner...for those of you that have the JLT intake does it rub alot, will it scratch the intake any...I can alway get a new hood liner

Mine rubs right at the hose clamp at the intake tube. Scuffed up the rubber elbow a bit the intake tube itself doesn't get touched.

I have not noticed any rubing with mine and it has been on for about 12,000 miles now.

I just purchased a JLT and the only problem i have had so far was teh connection between the filter and the adapter. The filter came off one time i guess i just gotta make sure i get a tight connection on it and also is the heat shield suppose to be a lil loose like able to move? Mine is.....

I too have had my JLT for about 20k Miles.. I dont know if anyone else had this problem, The clamps on mine come a lil loose every 5K miles.. I have since then made a bracket to secure it from moving. Thanks to Defyant for the idea.. It works!. All in all I love my JLT, Tucker is awsome super fast shipping, He even sent me a extra sticker for mine that somehow came off.. :D

THe filter needs to be tight against the shield and adaptor, also, clean any oil from the inside filter flange. This wil help any filter issue your having.

Also, there is no need to tighten the clamps too much, they only need to be snug. Overtightening and engine heat can cause the clamp to dig into the pipe making it feel loose when it cools down.

Thanks all

My friend Jared and I finally installed the JLT intake from Jay....Thanks Jay, It really made a difference!!! Did not take long at all....The only problem came when tightening the aircone, it kept slipping off, then I cleaned with soap and dried it...tightened it and it sticks fine now. Thanks again Jay.

P.S. Can someone tell me how to post thumbnails in this message? I can't figure out how to do it....by the way the photo's of the new JLT are in my photo gallery....Sorry I couldn't thumbnail.

From your picture page in the Gallery, you need to directly copy the BB Image Code, which includes the IMG tags. Or, copy the Direct Link Code and paste it into the window that opens when you click on http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/images/editor/insertimage.gif.

Hey Jay, Will the sticker stay where I put it uner the hood? I wanted to stick it on the window but didn't want it on just one side...it would fit perfect on the triangle window on the back door....

It's a regular sticker, not a static sticker, if that's what you mean.

Anybody have any trouble with the engine running lean after the intake was installed? Is a programmer necessary?
