Sighting 2/17: Cromwell, CT Rt 372 & West St. 7:09 PM

I saw you (if you are here)....we were sitting directly across the intersection of West St and 372 (I was heading west...you turned left and headed east over Rt 9). I was staring at what I thought was a Grand Marquis until I saw the 18's flicker as I looked over my shoulder during my turn.

Are you here ? (not MSR7878 again....if so we've got too much in common...but if so you were 2 min's from my house so you were my guest...)?

Where were your driving lights? All dimmed out and tricked me for a second...

No problem on the ticket....I was asking for it. Plus the trooper did me a MAJOR solid on how he wrote it up (I was well within reckless/suspension territory).

I got rolling WAY too fast (not a closed course/prof driver...but a quiet Saturday AM stretch nonetheless).

Dunno about the Valentine...already have $300 into the ticket (plus my winter bucket...'97 Wrangler...is asking for a cat & exhaust). Sounds like the thing will pay for itsself; but I'm not usually causing trouble (why speed...I enjoy the new ride too much and am not in a hurry to get anywhere).

I will tell you....a decade ago I ran with detection....but I knew better the hiding spots (including 91 south of Hartford, all of Route 9 and good stretches of 95...but obviously not near Orange at the McDonald's southbound) and the techniques (pacing with a fast runner who I can work with or looking for brake lamps day or night).

The pacing thing is tougher now though since I got the MM....got a lot of people (mostly daytime) reacting to me and slowing down or getting out of the go-fast lane (pick one...everybody hangs in the left these days so one has to improvise)!
