Marauder Jacket

If anyone could help me by answering whether or not someone who purchased a MM in Oct/04 (new '04 model) is entitled to receive a jacket with the car I would greatly appreciate it. Also if you have information on where to claim the jacket that would be great as well.

but I started inquiring about the jacket the day I bought the car!

My L/M Dealer didn't know anything about the jacket. Had mine a month later after tapping into the knowlege of this site.

Wear that "search" option out. The info. on this site is enormous.

You should have received a postcard directly from L-M (not from the dealer) a couple weeks or more after your MM purchase. The card was intended for you to pick a jacket size. Did you get such a postcard? Jackets were keyed to VINs as they were sold. However, there was some initial confusion over whether the jacket program would be continued into the '04 model year. Pressure from '04 MM owners and popularity of the jacket program eventually caused L-M to continue the effort. However, your purchase may have fallen in that "questionable" timeframe. As mentioned already, many owners waited up to a year or more to get delivery of their jacket.

There is much written in the threads here about jackets -- the link mentioned above will help. Hope your postcard didn't slip through the cracks and that the program is active enough for you to recover the lost time. Good Luck !!

I purchased my Marauder in November of 2004 and within two weeks I received an ordering card for the jacket. After completing it I received the jacket in less than one week. Sometime after Christmas of 2004 I received another jacket. They really are nice. Good luck on your attempt to obtain one.

I bought my '04 in may 2004 and got the post card about a month later.
I picked a size, sent it back and got the jacket close to a month later.

It's a nice soft leather jacket that's easily worth a few hundred bucks.

Bought mine in August '04 and got my card, ordered and jacket recieved by October '04. I hope you can track one down for yourself.

I haven't worn mine yet, but it looks nice hanging in it's bag.

I purchased my 04 DTR in January of 05. Found out about jacket from this site. Had to call and inquire about it twice, once before receiving the postcard for size requirement and two months later to check on status. Finally received jacket in September.

Bought my '04 in January '05. When I bought it, I knew nothing about a jacket, but out of the blue I got a postcard a few weeks later. Sent it in, and had a jacket within a couple months.
