First of all, hello to everyone. I am new here and glad to have found your site. Lots of information here.
I do have a quick question. Yesterday I saw that a dealer here in MA has a '03 Marauder black in black with chromed wheels looking beautiful. So I stopped by and asked for the price, they said that they wanted 19.9K.
At this point I am thinking, that the price is negotiable and since I have a '04 Crown Vic LX I could trade it and not end in too much of a bind. Anyways, I decided to look for typical defects and things to look for in this car before I committed to it. I then found your site and although I have read plenty of posts, it is not easy to understand what specific issues this '03 model may present or are usual with them. I did notice on this car that the front bumper has some chips on the paint and that the paint is peeling slightly in some areas. This suggests to me that the front bumper was either replaced or re-painted at some point since I have yet to see a factory bumper's paint peel like that.
I liked the car and although it is a step in the opposite direction modelyear wise I do not care much about it since the car is beautiful. BTW it has 46K miles on it against the 30K in my '04 CV.
Can anyone provide some quick information or direction to where I could find this information? I apologize if this question has been asked before but I have not found such posts.
Thank you very much in advance.
Jim

Welcome to the site Jim.
The price seems kinda high to me, for the amount of miles on it.
Check out some of the Marauders on ebay for comparison.

If you PM RoyLPita with the VIN he will run a Ford Oasis report and let you know about service history, etc.. Good info to have on Marauders you are looking at.

Welcome :welcome1: to the MM.Net, Jim. Here's hoping you find that Marauder of your dreams !!!
I too think that $19.9K is a little high for an MM with 46K on it. If you have the VIN you can probably find out some of the car's history by contacting RoyLPita. You can also check out the retail/wholesale and trade-in values on the Kelly Blue Book site at >>>> http://www.kbb.com
Using my Zipcode, KBB shows a retail value of $17,675 for an '03 in Excellent condition and 46K miles.
The dings and peeling paint should give you some room to negotiate. Good luck in your hunt.

That is about what I was thinking to offer for the car (17K) but have not looked at the blue book yet.
Thanks for the suggestion.

ya, I agree thats alot. I paid $13,900 for mine in mint condition with 51'000 on the ticker (yes clean title). So you could find a better deal.

That is expensive but thats probably a dealer thats thinks he can lure someone in by making them think the car is a collectors piece or its a once in a lifetime find. Make sure if you purchase a Marauder you try to find a certified one from a dealer. You'll get a factory Warranty and it will be like buying a new car so if you have to finance you will qualify for the lowest APR.
17k for a non-certified car out of its factory warranty with dings, scratches, peeling bumper paint and 46k on the clock is a rip off.
Move on

These are great cars but like all cars, deals are deals. Find the car you really want, make the best deal you can and start making that car yours. The 03's seem to have more problems that the 04's. there are some really nice cars listed here including a BLUE Trilogy. That would be my first choice. Blue is not my favorite but they are beautiful and very very rare. The Trilogy kit installed is about $7200.00 and worth every penny. Best of luck in your search. Dennis:D

Hello Dennis, what type of problems would you say rid the 03s more than the 04s

Jim,
A quick run from Autotrader using 02360 (Plymouth, Ma.) and a 300 mile radius.... Shows 27 matches.... 03/04
Most are at dealeships so the trade you are seeking might be possible. There are two DTRs in the mix as well.
My advice would be figure out how far you are willing to drive.. some idiots here have been known to travel 2700 miles one way in the dead of winter from Arizona to Vermont to get a MM. (Even sucker another MM.Net Member into riding along on part of it)
Not to say the car you've found is bad...
But there are 175 of them on Autotrader if you go unlimited distance. MM.net has enough members you could probably pick out several of the cars and ask someone to go have a look for you and take pictures.. (like several in Florida and one in Michigan for example)
What's more... it wouldn't surprise me if you decided to go that way if you couldn't get free lodging at an MM.net member's crib... especially if you bring the beer or the steaks.
Think outside the box ! :D

Welcome JIMMYZ, if you want to travel to central NYS I know where there is a mint BLK 03 300A with 18k on the clock. Been on their lot for a while so they may want to deal.
